We went to visit Sundance yesterday and pick up a couple of her birds. The boys have declared her house to be "The House of Awesome" because of all the neat stuff there. Ash came home with 3 Americaunas, which he won't stop babbling about (he thinks he has his own flock now!). We also came home with a bunch of quail--coturnix, bob white? I know next to nothing about quail, but the boys were most persuasive. Zach hit research mode the second we got home (gotta love homeschooled kids obsessiveness) and he's been walking around citing quail information at us. He was pretty ticked tha IFA didn't have a book on quail and actually asked the sales lady how they could justify selling quail when they had no information on raising them (he was polite, but offended). She took it pretty well and actually agreed with him.

Sundance had, I think, Seramas? Little little chickens with a rooster that crowed like a squeak toy. I have hens that make more manly sounds than that rooster, but it was super cute and kind of funny to listen to. Do all Seramas sound like that? If they do, one could keep them in non rooster areas with ought much trouble at all. I was thinking of getting a small bunch of those sometime. Cute as can be....

Yes, Sundance has Seramas. I have 4 young ones from her, and seriously want at least one of her chocolate hens and another roo...but have to convince the hubby first.

WHEW! Back from Logan finally! So tired and exhausted. Poultry judging went ok, but was a nightmare for me! XD nice to be back with my birds! Need to contact Sundance today.

So my birds have been flying out the door. I still have quite a few to sell. I have 2 pearl leghorn pullets, a black sex link pullett. Some cream leg bar Olive Maran pulletts. A trio of Auracanas a black silkie adult, A red Silkie adult a silver laced wyandott adult A black polish my Duncle that is so pretty and a few Seramas I also have some red sex links and a beautiful Barnvelder lays very pretty dark brown eggs

I've been looking for a male Silkie, but I couldn't keep him long... Unfortunately... I just need one for breeding. I am willing to just use one temporarily but can't go all the way up to Idaho Falls... >.<

Before I put an ad up, would anyone be willing to take either of my Buff Brahmas? Or my Leghorn pullet? Especially the Brahmas... They're special but I am rehoming them.
