Utah!

Talk to your local fair commission. I'm sure they would let her show in the OPEN class. Wouldn't hurt to check, and the judges love those kinds of chickens that are easy to handle for the kids. Plus, she'll learn a lot and what they're looking for from her and her poultry.
More like mom will learn a lot about what they want. She just wants to tell you all about Fluffy, that's the poor chickens name today, yesterday it was tutu, and I think all last week she called her Bunny, because she's really a retard bird, and was hopping all over the place. I'll have to call down there, I think Utah County fair is sometime in August. Down fall it its about 45-1 hour away to have to be there every day for a 4 days.

I wonder how much she would have to memorize to tell a judge about her bird. Whatever it will be will be hilarious, you should hear her try and say Houdan. LOL

So, how is it you got away without getting sprayed?
LOL... didn't you know... I'm a Skunk Wrangler or also known as The Skunk Whisperer

. Skunks only spray when they feel threatened or are startled. These have obviously been there for long enough that they don't consider me a threat. Besides, if you cover them, they stay calm. I cover them until I'm ready to transport and release. Upon release, they are more happy to be out and heading towards the river I release them at, for a drink, than where I am for retaliation. Saying that, today, I'll probably get skunked.

Found another adult and now a juvenile in a trap this morning... both in the same one, which is good. The small trap was sprung and empty

.

The count is now up to 6 adults, 1 juvenile and 1 baby.... with at least 7 more babies to trap. The Law of Averages must have balanced, since I've never had a problem with any skunks before, ever.

PM me and I'll let you know what information she has to know, and how to show her bird.

You may want to check and see if your town has it's own fair before you take it to the County level. She'll have fun!! You both will learn a lot, plus this will be a good start when she gets into 4H, which is a good program to teach all levels of responsibility and being a leader.

Does anyone show their birds? My 5 year old loves our Houdan so much, that she literally totes the poor thing around like a baby (so there went my thoughts of re-homing her, shes now a keeper). She is always feeding her extra mealworms, strawberries, and grapes. and she is always asking if we can take her on a car ride, for a walk, and if she can sleep in her room. That I was wondering if they let little kids, age 5 show chickens. I looked into 4H, but they don't start till 3rd Grade. I highly doubt she is even show quality since she was hatchery hatched. But I think my 5 year old daughter would get a kick out of it.

Anybody can how chickens at the fair. it goes by the chicken not the age of exhibitor. You just enter them an leave them in the cage to be judged

Our town just barely started having a small carnival down town for our home town days. So no fair, they don't even have a craft show or anything. I could see maybe Lehi or American Fork. Not sure will have to look into it.
Are they Frizzled? I only want a frizzled roo
Sorry, I think they are just normal Silkies, I got them from Gary about 8 weeks or so ago. I'm not even sure if they really are Roos, they are just double the size of the other 2, and their combs are starting to get big bumps, and they square off and fight with each other all day long.

She would not have to tell the juege anything. The judging is done weithout talking to exhibitor in the breed classes

Your county has a fair in Spanish fork or Salt lake county has a fair at the equestrian center both in August
