Alright anyone out there have a nice showbird quality hen?? My little sisters show bird just passed away and she is very devastated and needs a new one.

She would prefer a somewhat rare breed that is really showy. If anyone knows of any it would be so much appreciated. Thanks
 
I went out today with the spray bottle. my broody was out of the nest so i sprayed her. She is a frizzled Serama so is very small. She was so insulted that I sprayed her. She was not a happy camper and let me know by growling and pecking my toes. She then went over to eat and drink so I left her alone. The other hens loved it. I also got the biggest egg I have ever gotten. Its as big s a duck egg. I hope to get a picture of it

So are you talking about the breed showbird whick is a naked neck slkie or are you talking about a bird that is showable. I was confused

a showable bird sorry. Really upset over losing a bird. stupid heat

Hers that died was an Egyptian Fayoumi. she is so upset cause she was getting ready to take it to the fair this august.

I agree - check with Desert Springs on where to get a replacement. I would offer you one of mine, but I honestly don't know that any of them are SQ.

I too have a hen that refuses to leave her nest. Have been giving her scrambled egg with vitamins, and bringing her water. Have actually removed her several times out of the nesting box, as she seems to be getting weak with this heat. Today she wouldn't even eat.

Mine too. She has had so little to drink in the last few days I do not know how she is surviving in that hot house all day, crazy girl! If she does not do better tomorrow I think I will put her in a wire cage in the run in the shade, at least she will be out of that hot henhouse and maybe then she will drink or eat if it is right next to her in the cage....don't know what else to do :confused:
