Utah!

I think Brian only has the one little girl, about a month or so old. I know he's on the fence with re-homing her. Cause I offered to take her with the others. But if he decides to let her go and calls me I will get her for you. I'm only a few minutes from him.

My 5 girls are almost 17 weeks and my White Leghorn is showing signs to possibly start laying soon. She is little but squatting and her comb and wattles have become very red. I'm excited and can't wait to show off little white eggs soon. Here are a few pics of her as she has grown. This is my first so any advice is welcome :)

Welcome Ally! Cute Leghorn you have there. i think she has another month or so before she's really ready to lay, but I hope I'm wrong.

Lisa, glad Gizmo found a good home.

Sara, I refuse to look at the link because I have one silkie, but I have no idea on gender. I want a silkie hen, but not willing to start over with chicks this late in the season.

Ok... I need some good ol' fashioned therapy. I let my flock out this morning to forage in the yard... I do this everyday and they do fine... Well... today was the exception. My one and only Blue Wheaten hen (which I was waiting on to lay eggs to sell/hatch olive eggers in the future) got caught and killed by the landlords dog that got out today. Ugh... It's so frustrating when you put so much hard work to hatch out little chickes... and then this happens... well... I guess I'll be looking for another one... but I'm definitely not doing the whole chick thing for a loooooooooooooooooong time.
