Utah!

Hello, it's been a long time since I've been on my broody has left he chicks, if anyone wants a white silky i have threedon't know genders yet.

we had an incident with our dog about two weeks ago, our saint which has been known to catch and kill chicks (he seems to have gotten over it) caught the neighbor's chiwawa chasing "his" birds and killed it. i was crushed he was a good dog, I'd been trying to keep their dogs out of our yard for months i never thought i was protecting their dogs as well as my chickens. They where very forgiving but i still feel awful.

I'm still expanding our little garden, my girls have the run of the yard and love it when i get the shovel out to dig another plot. we don't have the money for fertilizer but i think i might till in my chicken poo sawdust soon if i can get my knee to leave me alone.

Good luck Red!!!! I'm so excited it looks like all your Icelandics are pullets!

Rykel, I'm sorry about the dog incident. I gotta say, if a dog got into my backyard and was going after my chickens, and MY dog killed it, I wouldn't be terribly apologetic. Especially if my yard was fenced. I'd maybe make the right noises, but inside, I'd be thinking, "Serves you right for not controlling your dog". That's mean, right? But, the thing is, I don't want them killing my chickens, harassing my livestock, or possibly hurting my children.

Thanks all! The interview went well. It was through a temp agency, and with luck, I'll be working before the end of the month. Yay!

Found two more mystery eggs today, and my girls keep taunting me with the egg song........and not leaving any eggs.........brats.

Congratulations Red! I hope all goes well.

I'm looking fir advice. My son's best friend's little brother drowned yesterday. I want to do something for the famiky but I'm at a total loss. I couldn't imagine that type of loss. He was 3 or 4 and had a seizure in the tub. Anyone have any advice on what I can do? (You guys are also great listeners and just had to talk to someone. It's hit me hard although I didn't really know the family. I just can't imagine someone enduring that kind of pain and want to help relieve some but don't know how to go about doing it.)

Oh my goodness sara! So sorry. I know how you feel. We had a young man drown in his grandmother's pool years ago when we lived in Payson..I could watch that little red head jumping on the trampoline from my back sliding doors. I was in the R.S. at the time, and was the only member of the R.S. that was home..the others were at a camp out! At least I had the help of neighbors, and other ward members, things went great.
All I know is, that you make wonderful cakes. They will be needing cake for the family dinner. So sorry. You son must be feeling pretty sad also. :(

My Seramas are growing so fast, but not so big. :) They scrambling up in the corner away from me. Got a few separate ones up front.

Brian is getting this frizzle

You bet I do! Duck, goose, turkey, grouse, pheasant, chukar, quail, dove............I'll take 'em all. Thank you for thinking of me.

Brian, that is sure cute. Sounds like you had a lot of fun :)  I have a neighbor that gets excited whenever I take him some eggs and I have blue ones in there.
Your welcome I'll let you know when I have some for you.
