So my incubator after 14 days of holding a steady temp, in a room where the temp stays 100% the same, decides it wants to mess with me. Yesterday afternoon it when down to 99 on top and 96 on bottom, so I decided to add 1 plug. Goes back to normal of the 99 on bottom and 101ish on top. Checked on it like 4 hours straight. Totally fine. Left for about 45 minutes to run to the store, I checked it before I left. Totally fine, come home from the store we are at 102 on top and 100 on the bottom. Thank God only like 45 minutes to and hour tops. So I take the plug out. Goes down to the normal 99/101. Stays like this for the reminder of the day, like 7 hours of me checking it. Did my hand turn around 10pm, and it went right back to normal. I checked on it before I went to bed around 11:30pm, still normal. My 2 year old wakes up at 3 am crying, so I decide to check on it, again its down to 96/99. Again I put a plug in, and it went back to normal.

So I'm dealing with the same as yesterday with it today. (Day 15) I don't dare turn the stupid knob, but I'm getting worried that now if I need to do lock down on Sunday instead of tuesday since those Bantams are so full looking, that I'm going to have issues with the temp, and I read I need both plugs out during hatch.

You think that the low dips are okay? I'm starting to want to pull my hair out, its frustrating me, just because I really only think I have 2 that are even possible of hatching, and I don't want a lonely chick, so I want to keep them both safe and sound.

Any thoughts?

Silly, personally I don't worry too much about lows in this end stage---the highs are much worse...others might have varying feelings about it, but for mine I don't sweat it too much. I have even read on other hatching threads that some lower it to 97 ish during lockdown. I have not purposefully done that though.

Yep, same here..I usually go with the 97. I have some going into lock down on Wed. I won't worry if it is 97 at all. I wouldn't mess with the knob. Sounds like you are good.

So everyone I'm going on day 16 tomorrow with the eggs. Do you guys think I should do lock down on day 17 with the Bantam Eggs? Just starting to get ready, and praying the 2 hatch or I will just cry, it would be super nice if the one regular egg hatches too.

And what is the humidity that I want them at 65%?

Thanks
