ITS SET DAY!

So I set........43 eggs. YIKES! I hope that at least 1/2 of them hatch. And I'm kicking myself now for checking to make sure I had enough shelf liner, so I will have to fix it when I either turn them in 48 hours or when I candle at day 7. I didn't even have enough left for a 1/4 of the bator, so they are just in there, kind of hard to get them to stay in one place. Oh well. They are officially set!

So this is the list
12-Ameruacana's
12-EE's
13-OE
3-Leghorns
2-Welsummers
1-Black Sex link

And they actually all fit in the incubator. So I had room for 5 more, so I called the gal that took over Sunnybrooke Farm stuff up in Taylorsville since I was like was so close to filling it. She sells eggs for $0.60 an egg. So I let the now 6 year old pick out the eggs, I cringed with the leghorns, but she was like I want white eggs. LOL And then she picked out the 2-Welsummers and 1-Black Sex Link. So not I'm not really sure on the fertility of the 6 random ones or the EE's or what my friend picked up but we filled the bator. I'm sure all 13 of Wendy's are 100% good to go.

at the last minute I have some eggs to set. Wendy brought me some copper Maran eggss and I have some frizzle Americana eggs. I am not sure they are fertile yet as they were only with the rooster 2 days. Its been a while since I hatched so this will be fun for me.

This is a true story.

   I was outside taking care of chickens.  I knew the mail had come, but hadn't looked at it yet.   All of a sudden, my DH comes outside and yells..Cal Ranch has their still air incubators on sale!   I looked up at him, and just stood there!  What?  I mean, I did hear what he said, but what?   Ha ha..he said it again.   Cal Ranch has their still air incubators on sale, and he says the price.   He knew I was looking to get another bator and sell my old one, so he let me know.  I had actually already bought anther one off the internet..but...we headed for Cal Ranch.      He knows I have the other one coming.
