Utah!

Hey all, I just wanted to ask again (now that the hatch a long has started), does anyone have any fertile eggs in/around SLC area? My friend has an unbreakable broody and I would like to help encourage her chicken addiction

She is only looking for a few (4 or so), since this is a first time broody. Let me know.

One a side note...she is the one that I gave the chicks that I hatched from Sundance to. She has a frizzled EE that is super cute!

I have 4 she could buy the dad is the brother to her frizzled EE

I will in 5 1/2 months from now.  Blahahah!  I have 13 in the incubator for the hatch along, let me know if you might want a few chicks, as I'm not going to be keeping more the 2-3 hopefully all pullets  :D
Ok. I will let you know if I don't find any.

So I just went outside to shut up my coop door, because I totally forgot that I was out there putting fresh food and water and left it open because someone came over and I forgot to go back out and shut it. So I just went out there, and my Japanese Bantam is not in the coop. Come in the house for a flashlight thinking she's up in the tree, she slept up there all summer long. And nope, not there, so I go hunting. The little turd is in a cinderblock retaining wall hole, you know the the hole that is like maybe 4 inches by 4 inches if that, with 9 eggs! Yes 9 eggs. I wonder how long she has been doing that. So needless to say, she went in the coop, and I put a piece of plywood over the holes.

So funny, not you having to hunt for her, but that she was hoarding eggs in the hole. Silly girl ~ :p

I just wonder how long she has been doing that, and if she has been sitting on them like that all night long. Its been raining/snowing for the last 3 days, we had like 4 inches today. But then it warmed up and rained and its just a muddy mess. But really. Stupid chicken! But I don't think she is broody, because she was out in the yard today, and was out when I went to give them treats and fresh food and water, so I don't know. She's just the trouble maker, I always have to look for her.

The thing that looks the most rooster-ish is the ratio of white to black--roosters are lighter---the comb looks like it could go either way still, it probably is a boy, but I would wait a bit if it wereme just to be sure. I have rehomed 2 out of 6 BR this Spring from Cal Ranch. I have one more questionable...those are not good ratios for supposedly sexed pullets!

I feel your pain

Not much black on the front of those legs either.

I hatched my own this year..well, one lonely egg made...and it looks like a girl for sure! How in the world did I do that? Wait..how in the world did that happen? :)
