Utah!

8 Babies silkies ... :) Out of 10 that went into lock down. Group shot..a tiny tot on the bottom of photo..seems I usually get one Lisa..and, I am thinking this is a dark blue...hmmm?? Not sure what that white one is, has that smoky look to it like my one I lost. My paint, with her little spots. Crazy beards going on already! Pretty sure a splash! Another splash! No vaulted head on this one, but a nice fluffy neck already too.. The tiny tot
These are sooo cute. I hope that paint is a girl for you! She already has cute spots! If any of the lighter blues that you keep end up boys, well, you know.....lol

So funny, I must be a TOTAL chicken nerd, I am so excited to go to Chicken stock today. I feel like a trekkie headed to a Start Trek Convention LOL. Red, wish you did not have to work today so you could go again! You want me to get any turkeys for you? Text me if you do, I will have my phone but be off the computer.

I was out cleaning my carriers with clorox and packing up the car all night. So excited! Hope it is a nice day in Idaho, looks good so far.

I WISH I had Sumatra's <3 They are on my someday list.

Side note: I'm babysitting Silly's chicks at work this morning, and everyone thinks they are soooo cute. I just have to keep a lid on the box so the work area stays, ahem, sanitary.

So I picked up my new chicks. And they are outside loving the sun, and rolling in the dirt. But here is the one that we don't know what it is. Pea comb, yellow legs, bright barring. Any thoughts? RedIII thought it was a SB, but it doesn't have a double comb.

Here are some quick photos, I will have to get better ones when I bring them inside for the night. I didn't want to mess too much with them. They've been in a box all day, so I just wanted them to get some nice fresh water, food and air.

Side note, the JB has been locked in the coop for 3 days, my husband let her out last night when he was putting everyone to bed since I've jailed her. But she stayed in the yard. So maybe she took her grounding a hint.

Wait, light? Not dark? Weren't you wanting a dark blue? I'm confused, as usual. :) I bet I will get a light blue boy..or splash out of what I am keeping to watch. You aren't wanting splash though, right? You know, with a splash, you can get the BBS from them. Of course you know the breeding combination better than I do..and I can't remember who you want to breed the blue with.

so what would you all do if you were in this situation. i have a leghorn that i have caught eating eggs several times. she maybe eats one once a week or so. but i do not know if she meant to crack them or if it was a accident and she decided to eat them. its always the same girl tho. the other girls tattle on her so i find her in the nest with egg on her face. its hard because she was one of my first girls i got a few years ago and she is sweet. i do not want a egg eater but i am not sure if she means to crack them? its hard. so what would you do?

Greetings, chicken folk. Welcome to the newbies! Pull up a chair and chat a while.

Cynthia, so sorry about the white baby

ILMS, I'll bet Dixie looks cute with babies!

Sundance, any chance I could talk you into taking some turkey eggs up to Logan for Ace? Assuming you haven't already left?

I checked my turkey eggs in the incubator. One black cloud of death (possibly two) and six boring yolk blobs... Seriously, it's been at least two weeks. I hate hate hate this incubator

I'm considering just shutting it off and tossing the eggs. And maybe trashing the bator. Piece of garbage.

I am so sorry I didn't see this before I left

Got to meet Whitney (Rediii) today finally. Thank you a bunch for the eggs!! I can not wait to put them under my broody tonight. This is my first time having a broody raise chicks so wish us luck haha.
