Utah!

I ordered some Cream Legbar eggs from Ebay and they got shipped today!! We need to do a hatch-a-long together :) I am more than a bit nervous about hatching chick eggs after reading this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101
I know! I read that a couple of days ago. It has me nervous for sure!
I would love to do a hatch-a-long!
Yay! Now I'm even more excited! It's always funner to have somebody to compare notes with. :)

Sundance, I think a chickenstock in SL would be WONDERFUL! i hope it can get pulled together!

Ace/Sundancen, I'll be in SL both Saturday and Sunday, so I can pick up eggs from Sundance and get them to my house. That'd be a bit of your drive shaved off. I could even toss in some FBCM eggs if you want.

How traumatic!!! I always hat helping too, but I had to help one out last time.

Are you still in the Roy area? I know you talked bout moving earlier...
I just got 6 fertile eggs from a coworker to put under my broody... So I think I might be good. Unless I put them in my bator! :he no... Can't. Shouldn't. :D

So no one can tell me what that chick from RedIII is. I've had some people tell me maybe dark cornish, others EE without the slate/green legs and/or the muffs. But I don't think that its either really. But everyone is in agreement that its a cockerel.

Its so sweet too, it loves to have its chest scratched. So anyone looking for a mystery cockerel.

Do you know what roosters Red has?? That would give you half of the equation. And egg color could help on the other half.

Thats what I was thinking. I thought it had nice feathering already. I wish it had a bigger crest but maybe that'll appear later. I may hang onto it and watch it a while if you think its a good quality :) Wish it was a nice splash though since I have a few white already lol.

Ha, you wanting the splash, me wanting the white. I'll keep hunting the whites. Maybe I'll get one of my own if I can breed some. Lisa would know..If I breed a Paint to a Splash, or Black, I have a change at a white, right? I do still have that white out there, not the best in full muff, but bred to the right full muffed girl, I could get a nice white.

You guys think it could be an EE too, but its not bearded, no puffy cheeks, and yellow legs.

Not all EE's or OE's have puffy cheeks. I had an OE that laid the most beautiful Olive egg a couple of years back, and, I had an EE that laid a pretty blue/mint green egg about 2 yrs. ago now, neither had puffy cheeks.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. I think im going to have a beautiful white girl out there. She's already looking like she's getting a nice full round crest and she still has those fuzzy cheeks and thick feathered legs just like this chicks pic I posted. Then I have another white im waiting to see if its a boy/girl and then this lil one. And i'd trade two of them for the perfect splash haha. I just love that color and wish I could get ahold of one or two. These new babies I got from you I can tell are going to be gorgeous but im pretty sure one will be blue and the other a light blue or silver, which is totally fine with me! I think they are going to be very nice looking! But im still on the hunt for a nice splash :)

There is always a hatch a long going on. Go up to the top and type in the search bar..May hatch a long. Or, are you talking about just one for here? That would be fun. :)

And on that post you guys are reading..that's Sally Sunshine for you. She studies it all. There are things that she has on there that I just don't do..won't go through them all, but weighing my eggs during incubation is one of them, and, I don't mark my eggs as the air sac grows, I only do it at lock down so I can see where it is, and that shows me when they pip how close they are to the air sac. I have hatched so long now, that I can tell if the air sac is developing too fast, or too slow, and adjust my humidity accordingly..not bragging, I'm sure many on here do the same. Eyeball it! :)

A splash, like this? Me too! I think I have a couple of splash in there. Remember the smokey one? She is going to be a splash, but a real light one..I want one like I had. A blue with darker blue.
