Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm in Layton and my Silkie has gone broody again (no surprise there). Where would you recommend I get fertile eggs for her to hatch?

Thx Amber

And sure, put some eggs under her if you want the chicks. If not..try putting her in a rabbit type cage to break her..she needs to be in something that will allow air to flow through her chest to keep it cool. I have one that sits up on legs..haven't had the chance to use it yet though, even though I have a bantam cochin that is over a yr. and hasn't gone broody yet. She just lays almost every day, every bit as good as my sex links. Try keeping her in there for around three days, see if that works, if not, back she goes for another three. This is what I have been learning from some reading. Won't be trying to break a broody any time too soon though, would love a broody hen. :)

Willow Park, gang activity? I take my grandkids there to play all the time, have not seen anything like that....thank goodness. Lots of BBQ's down there in the summer, and the baseball diamonds are there so we got do batting cages and watch baseball, no problems. LOVE the farmer's market there. I did like the FM better when it was at Central Park though, the trees were nicer in that area. I wish they would move the Willow Park one across the road where the trees are instead of in the open area that it was in last year. But I still like the event, we get lots of goodies down there. Grey Bird Farm is going to be there this year with eggs

OMGoodness, Bitsyhorse, that little roo has not just furry feet but he is wearing furry pants! He is so cute!

Yup...even had a murder there in 2005. My parents live just west of the park.

Bitsy--Thanks! So different, after looking at the JBCoturnix. I like the white better I think. Gary---if you want hatching eggs in a couple weeks, let me know! Or chicks this summer! I also got a new rooster for my Brown ones, so hopefully he will do a better job than the last fella and I will have more of those eggs/chicks as well.
