Utah!

Iluv i thought that partridge looked like mine. She is looking cute. I was going to keep her but i love to share with my BYC friends. She came from my white pullet. I wonder how the blue roo i had is looking i sold to a lady in Mt Pleasant. I wasn't home when she came to get them, to bad cause i would have told her about BYC. I set 7 splash Silkie eggs a couple days ago, hope they all hatch.
She does look nice so far, and im anxious to see what she looks like as she matures :) Do you by chance have pics of her parents you'd like to show? I'd love to see them, to get an idea of her quality or maybe where she got her color. :)

Oh I might as well mention to all my byc friends that ive decided to sell one of my splash chicks because im pretty sure its a roo. If anyone is looking for a splash silkie for breeding, let me know. I just listed him on ksl :)

Iluv,She is from PQ not show but sometimes i get really nice chicks. Here is the rooster. He is fully bearded and had a good top fluff until he got out of his run when i had my B-RIR. The poor guy didn't stand a chance. When i found him he was complety bald and his comb was ripped open in several places and his beard was almost gone. If he would just have a hard molt he would be pretty again. He is a little over two years old.

Here is the hen. I think she is around 8 months old now.

They are both beautiful. The roo looks like a splash? So then how is this chick a dark partridge? lol. I guess there's a partridge gene in there somewhere? lol. Her mom looks lovely. I hope she gets her fluff :) Do you have a pic of this chick as a baby?

He is a splash but he does have some red color in him. This is the first eggs i hatched from these two. They were all blues except the partridge. The last white hen i had produced blue, partridge, and porcelain. Sillycmoy (Karen) has two of those hens. They are completely different in color. Here is that baby picture.

I put the two chicks under my fcbm thats been sitting, She did fine with them last night but today when I went out to feed she came running for food and left the babies high and dry. Not a good mom. I put the chicks under my silkie that has been broody for 3 days. She flattened out and pecked my, She was so proud that her eggs had hatched into babies. she had no eggs I kept pulling them. Very protective and really funny the other hen ate her breakfast and was clucking around the yard, No worries about the babies she left in the nest. oh well. meantime the silkie is clucking and all happy, This is a very young bird. Shes only been laying about two weeks

I picked up my chicks back in mid March. My black sex links have been showing signs of laying. I found two of them crowded up in one of my nest boxes.

Come to find out, one left me a gift. My very first egg.

It's a small egg but perfect. I left it in the nest for them to enjoy for now. I expect the other bsl and my barred rock will start to lay soon enough.

She sure was cute and fluffy. Still has nice feet, cheeks and now crest coming in. Crazy how at first she looks like a brown partridge and now she is more of a blue partridge. I guess she wanted to carry the blue like her siblings lol. Her soft under fluff looks the most blue, but her body is so dark its almost looking black to me lol. Ive been told partridge change soo much as they age so im curious to see how she changes as she matures and finishes fluffing out. I see she is continuously getting new pin feathers in everywhere that are sprouting brown feathers, so who knows maybe she'll show alot more browns & golds later on. I hope so, that would look pretty :)

Yes, I have 2, I had 4 but 2 were roosters. I had 2 White Porcelain, and then by dark blue/black partridge and then another partridge rooster. I still have 1 porcelain, and the dark blue/black partridge. They both have amazing muffs, and crests. They are super fluffy.

Today is a HOT day! I got up early to work on the shed-coop a little more... I feel like I made some serious progress! In the last few days I've done the nest box door, paint and trim. Now all that's left is the door! I also need to get rid of all this sand. If anyone wants it, it's free! Here are some pics!

Also, I have several of these fencing pieces that I am selling for $6 a section. In my last coop, I used them to add an additional 64 square feet of run space. I have four or five 8 ft pieces and two or three 4 ft pieces. They are all four feet high. I am going to KSL them but figured I would check here first. Reply here or PM me for details. I'm in Cache Valley.
