Utah!

Lisa I will totally need some in like Jan/Feb. with some Maran's. I only have 1 Maran now, and its my special needs girl that I got from Wendy, and she only lays 1-2 eggs a week. :( I'm going to miss my chocolate eggs. So very sad about the hen. I don't know what to do with her, but right now she is fine all by herself on the other side of the run in her own little coop. She seems okay in there too.

If your daughter's bonded to her, I'd just leave her by herself. If you end up with a roo you don't really want, you could put in in their for winter warmth (and maybe take her down a notch)? So sorry about your loss,

I hope it was the hen (sadly) and not another predator. Did her neck appear punctured? That would indicate weasel, I lost a big roo to one. I've heard mink that have gotten lose are also causing problems in areas (and spreading).

K, here's a pic of the white roo from Sundance. Dad is Hercules and mom is a BCWP. Not sure what's going on with his tail feather, the tall one just grew in. He's next to the blind banty roo (who is full grown) and the butt of a maran pullet that is older than him by about 2 months.

My husband is not happy about 2 roosters crowing in the coop next to house so he's free to a good home.

OK, the imbed image is just twirlin' away forever. I'm going to post this and see if I can add the image. Ugh!

He's beautiful. Love the one long tail feather lol

so i just realized that my first set of girls that make up most my flock are 4 years old now. but they still lay around 5 eggs each a week, sometimes more. and you should see the size of some of the eggs. i am not going to rotate them out :)

I am officially nervous as heck about my first time incubating eggs Ahhh! Seriously though, ive been googling info all week until my brain hurts trying to educate myself with the best tricks to ensure a good hatch but im still terrified of doing everything I can and still getting a bad hatch or none. I really hope I do everything correctly and get at least a couple paints.
