Utah!

Things will all work out. And the great thing is, when you are ready to rebuild your flock, all of us are more than happy to help!

Sorry to hear that

Thank you all.

QUESTION:

About Turkeys. Maybe Red knows this?

Which is better for eating, Hen or Tom? Is there a big difference? I have never asked anyone before and every year at the store I stand there trying to decide which kind to buy for Thanksgiving. We usually get a hen, but no idea.

Bellamore, so sorry to hear about your situation :( I would be heart sick, too. Hope things improve VERY soon!

Lisa, I think it's just preference. Hens tend to be smaller. If you want a juicy bird, look for a young one - although a lot of the turkeys at market are butchered before they're even a year old. So I don't know exactly what age "young" is :/

Thanks for the tip! :highfive:

Oh great. Lisa and I have just discovered that I inadvertently "roostered" her with her baby orange tree :( I'm so sorry, Lisa! We chicken keepers are cursed, lol! At least it will have pretty flowers.

Bitsy, yours turned out to be a boy, too. You are still welcome to it if you want. I'm going to be inundated with male trees. Bad oranges, bad!

Cynthia, those lambs remind me of my turkeys :)

I don't know the differences between boy and girl trees I guess... lol is it only girl trees that produce fruits? does that go for apple trees too? if so, I think I have a boy apple tree that barely produces any blossoms :p lol! (it's 5 yrs old)

Could be :/ I honestly don't know if all apples are only male or female. Birdman might know. How old is your tree? And yes, with citrus, the females will produce blossoms and fruit; males only have blossoms. I seem to have surrounded myself with males..... Guess I'll try for a bonsai, after all.

well, I was hoping it would produce fruit... lol but I guess if it doesn't that's alright... but I'd probably only be able to get it if someone was able to train it down to springville.... :( things are super busy right now... (just had a grandma pass away, and just took on a German foreign exchange student!). If someone else would like it, that's cool too :) knowing me, I'd probably end up killing it lol!
