Utah!

Daylight Savings… I tried to explain this to the girls today, I don't think they have quite caught on to the concept yet. I will most likely need to do it over again on the morrow for them. I am in the camp to those whom wish they would just pick one, I really don't really care which one. I deployed the rooster pen this a.m. and things round the place were much more subdued. The little banty hens gave me a high five flight feather, as they went in to roost this p.m. I take it that they liked the relief they received today.

However, I always have to wonder why the good girls, want the bad boys? It was cute to watch the little hens pacing up and down the pen, trying to talk to the boys in the pen. The banty coop will be quiet this evening, as well as in the morning when I drop my moat style pop door in the morning. Birds do not seem to like change, yet I see change as healthy in management style. I suppose I can always get better, the feathers on some of the hens necks will fill back in, I hope. I put seven little roos in my lock up, and left two with the flock.

R.C. my barred rock rooster, is such a gentleman, I watched him pick up a a bit of todays treat and offer it to one of the little banty hens. I think that so cool that he, as big as he has gotten, is still tender enough to find and offer treats to the hens, be they little or big girls. He is quite the man of the place, we do so enjoy having him around the place. Does or has anyone seen a picture of Lisa's new bird? I was wondering what this fellow would look like. Nice day out there, a bonus day for sure, shirt sleeves for me.

Best to all and your birds,

RJ

RJ, a word of caution on the roosters - you may get some fights in that pen. I have to put my boys in their own carriers when they're in time out.

And I love watching the boys find treats for their girls. One of my older boys once picked berries off a bush and fed them to a hen who was next to him. It was so cute.

Good night, all. Sleep well.

Just got back from Idaho, I actually picked up two, Liz is going to take one. So hard to decide!! After going round and round deciding, even though the one on the right has a tad more feathered in tail and comb very nice, I have decided to go with the one on the left, due to personality, he has the same proper traits, just a little behind the other maturity wise--couple dark spots on comb that should go away, BUT he curled up on me and sat on my lap. And ate out of my hand, the other one seems more scared. The one on the right is a little bit lighter too and the one on the left looks more like my current boy. Already falling asleep in the pic, long day for these two!

This is how it is when Brian comes over. My dogs just love him. Ziggy is the white one, and Brody is between me and Brian. They know he is an animal lover. :)
Checked some of Brian's eggs tonight to see if they were fertile..most were! Guess who is putting some into her bator for the HAL? :)

I just love these little guys. I love how excited they get when I come to visit:) I'm so excited I have so many fertile eggs from such a young rooster:) I guess he is a keeper, let's just hope he doesn't make my neighbors upset with his early crowing.

Beautiful eggs, Lisa!
Your little guy is soooo cute, Cynthia!
Brian, I have a Bengal, too. :) She was a show cat and we brought her back from Germany with us along with our two dogs. She runs this house. Our dogs have to bow down to her and she absolutely does not allow any other cats in our household. We got her and another kitten at the same time and for 6 yrs, she tried to kill her kitty brother daily until we finally gave up and found him another home. What a personality our crazy cat has!

wow that does sound like a handful. I've been really lucky and all my animals getting along with one another so I must be doing something right haha.we breed our bengals just for fun and we got a jack Russell maltese mix to breed with our jack Russell Chihuahua mix. Our waiting list just keeps on growing. We got a lavender bengal main coon mix out of her last litter and we of course kept her lOl. Sorry you had to rehome the poor guy. That sounds tough.

I had 22 silkie/sizzle eggs in the incubator and didnt notice two fans had been unpluged and temps dropped to 95 in the bottom rack. I ended up with only 5 hatching.

Thank you Diana i love these little guys. I would love to give it another shot when yours start laying and you are a little closer.
