Utah!

I have a pair of modern game chickens I am also going to sell  I can't remember for sure but wasn't RJ looking for modern games.  These are beautiful birds that are a yr old.  The Rooster is mean but since they are a game chicken that is normal.  They are proven show winners.  I won't be on the internet until We get home.  if anyone wants to talk to me they can call me 801 597 7854
you guys drive safe:) can't wait to be able to visit with you again!

thank you all very much :) I've been waiting for this day forever lol. The incubator hold its temperature perfectly. The fan does not work but I can always get that replaced. It's just a still air incubator at the moment :) I will have to get a hold of 6kidsfarm and see about maybe getting some polish for my next hatch.

Still air does not have a fan :D Sounds like its working perfectly. I like the still air better, the ones with the fan are hard to hatch in, the humidity does not stay up.

I like still air too. This one is a farm innovators 2100 and it has a fan in it. Not sure if they come that way or not. I got this thermometer/hydrometer combo yesterday and I'm really happy with it. If there is a heat spike or it drops below 99 an alarm will sound so I will know right when it happens, if it even happens:)

Where do you guys keep your humidity? Last year I tried it at 30 percent and raised to 70ish the last 3 days and had a horrible hatch. I read it should be around 50 so that's where I have it set right now.

I'm on day 4 of my first incubation and I have been at 50. I will turn it up to 65 at lockdown. I hope this works and I hope other successful Utah folks will chime in.

I have only incubated silkie eggs, but have found that for me they dont dry out fast enough if I have ANY water during incubation. I have to do a complete dry hatch. No water AT ALL and then just barely anything at lockdown, otherwise they drown or are still way to gooey. Humidity has alot to do with it where you live. You have to practice till you know what works for you. I've lost soo many chicks at lockdown due to them still having too much moisture, and I am barely starting to figure it out FINALLY. I am going to try only 30% at lockdown this time and I think it's going to finally be perfect for me. What works for me, may not work for everyone. I've had to follow advice from others who told me the same thing. They said to keep practicing till you find what works for you, your incubator and where you live. So this is what works for me. If you find that they dont dry out enough then reduce the humidity each try. You may find that a dry hatch works the best for you to.

I'm going to use this air cell chart and lower it if I need to. Maybe I will turn it down a bit just in case. I'm in the Salt Lake Area.

I will soon know what will work for me so i will just keep a close eye on everything and see how it goes:) turning 33 eggs 3-5 times a day will be fun... lol
