Chase Hatchery
I have never been so displeased with a so-called business. Let’s start out with communication with these people is awful. When it comes to taking your money, they will respond to an email/text in seconds, but if you have questions/concerns or need help with a purchase, you can count on never getting a reply.
It would have been cheaper for me to order online and just pay the shipping and handling. If you’re planning to purchase from this hatchery, I would highly suggest you reconsider.
Where is this place located?

I’ve had a terrible experience with them two years in a row now. Last year, I pre-paid and pre-ordered over $100 worth of chickens from them. They sent me an email stating they would be ready at the end of April. At that time I never heard from her so I contacted her and she had no idea who I was nor remembered my order. She said my chickens weren’t available and I would have to wait another month for her next hatch. Then at the end of May she was unable to get one of my breeds so I had to pick something different and they all would hatch at the end of June. At the end of June she said end of July. At the end of July she said she was having problems with the heat and they would be ready end of August. At the end of August when she still didn’t have my chickens I paid the fee to send her a Paypal bill to get my money back and gave up on getting chickens that year.
Unfortunately this is the only hatchery claiming to sell the breeds I want so I decided to give them another try this year. Again, I pre-paid and pre-ordered my chicks and received expected hatch dates. I picked up two chicks on their hatch date and one immediately died. I tried contacting them every few minutes trying to get help saving it but they didn’t reply till days later and they did not honor their 24 hour guarantee policy. On the second hatch date I got an email stating the rest were ready. I don’t live in Salt Lake and was having a hard time making it to town that specific day so I replied asking if I could come a couple days later. I never heard back from them. I emailed them daily for many days trying to coordinate and pick-up date. When I FINALLY heard back from them it was to tell me that because I didn’t come on hatch date (which they never actually set a time for) that they sold my chickens to somebody else. They said I would have to choose a different breed which, by the way, were half the price of what I paid with no reimbursement. Not only could I buy these other, regular breeds from IFA for $3, I only wanted the rare breeds so I was not interested. I have requested a refund for the three chicks I did not receive and they are refusing to give it.
Additionally, when I picked up my first two chicks there was a terrible snow storm and it was freezing. The front door to her house was open with piles of garbage spewing out. Her small children and TODDLER were standing there, NAKED and layered in what looked like to be weeks of dirt with no adult to be seen. If she is incapable of taking care of her own babies, I have serious doubts about her small garage loaded with chickens.

I too am completely unimpressed by their communication... it took nearly two weeks for her to respond BACK to an email I replied to... I just gave up on even bothering to ask anymore questions.... I was really wanting to get some ducks (not related to the emails) but after seeing how she responded to the emails... I said, no way. Do they even have a business license? Maybe someone should contact Gephart on them... ;) or better yet... the BBB

Wow, sad review!

Sidewing, my Wyandotte's are some of my favorites. They are peaceful, and content. Oh, and they are excellent mothers.

Farmerbrian, good luck with that last babe!!

I'm so sorry about your bad experience! I had an awful, awful time with Chase! I agree 100%! Its worth paying a bit more to ship quality birds. Which breeds are you looking for? I hope you're able to find them!
