Utah!

bitsy, sorry, no fun to lose them sooo close! No fun to lose any.

Do you have photos of the leghorn baby? Brian said you got one to hatch.

Welcome! Where do you live. You came to Spanish Fork and didn't stop by? I had a pullet chick I could have given you. Just a mix, but has a cute little woodpecker top, green green legs. Brian is taking her now. She is going to be soo cute.
lol...keeping an eye on chicks. We all know how that goes.
I just saw those Australorps in Cal Ranch. They should all be pullets. Bantams, are sold as straight run. EE's, love them!
I didn't know! Boo!
Aw well, probably for the best since we can only have 4 adult birds. Knowing the Australorps are pullets should help alleviate future space issues, I'll let my neighbor take over the extras. Curse you Cal Ranch!

I'm not joking. I went into the back and I asked if they had any of the varieties I was looking for (Bantam EE, Bantam Frizzle, or Black Australorp). The manager tells me she has Bantam Ameraucanas and the Australorps. I go back there and ask the guy if the Australorps are "straight run or pullets?" because nothing is labeled. He says straight run so I get 4 of the Australorps. Same question with the EEs and get the same response. 4 more babies. Then the manager tells me they are straight run and guaranteed to lay eggs (which makes no sense). I don't know that they have any idea what they're talking about.

PS: That is a mighty fine rooster. He's very attractive.

I am usually hatching blue EE chicks. Well, they are Olive Egger EE's anyway. Most are blue these days, some blacks and splash. If she decides she wants any blues! For the next month or so they should be around, then I always have hatching eggs for $30/a dozen plus (more like 20

)

Despite my chicken limit... This is very tempting... However, she's pretty set on having a Bantam Easter Egger. But if all our little bantams turn out to be boys, she might change her mind.

I tried to upload my nice camera pics... but it looks like I'm going to have to trim the size down before I can post them.... so, until I can get that... here is the group shot of what I have so far! (the far right was the last baby that hatched (this morning)) I still have some eggs, 1 with a pip (leghorn x SF) but I'm not seeing signs of others pipping yet... going to let it go for 2 more days, just in case we just have some slow babies... but for now, I'm just going to have to cross my fingers! I want to see MORE of these adorable FLUFFIES! :D

OK, took some quick pics with my phone so that I can post them. :) enjoy :D

This one is a RIR x SF mix (I know, because it was the first hatched lol)

This one is my other favorite... not sure if it's from an EE or from a tan egg...

This one was the 6th to hatch, it's out of an EE x SF

Sorry, the rest I don't remember the order they hatched
