Are a lot of turkey toms aggressive or are they like chickens where some are and some aren't?

They're like chickens. I had a BBW tom who was as tame as a puppy and two Black Spanish toms who were leery, but never challenged me. The one I sent off to camp today started out meek and skittish but turned nasty this year and wouldn't stop coming after my husband and I. We had to encourage him away from us with a big stick and some good pokes more than once.

I have only ever read that Bourbon Red toms (what this guy was) are sweet and agreeable. This one was decidedly the exception. I'm sure he'll taste good, though. Supposed to be one of the two best-tasting breeds of turkey.

I'm so excited. My awesome husband is letting me add a second coop to keep the perpetually broody bantams in.

It will give the big girls more room and should make life easier for the silkie and cochin since they won't have to be reintegrated all the time.

I have seen some come across KSL so I would keep my eye on there. You could put up an ISO ad on KSL.

Is Coal your SLW a cockerel?
I was told Coal was a pullet when I got her. Used to have two SLW's but one was a roo (started crowing and everything) that I found a home for. My fingers are crossed though that Coal is a pullet. Coal is a really good bird. : )

I was just a tad worried about the white patch on the shoulder, but I'll cross my fingers too.

What Lisa said. I hope it is an enjoyable feast. :)
