Utah!

Does anyone happen to know the lady in Amalga selling Orps and OEGBs? My daughters begging for a crele and a splash but I'm trying hard to hold my ground! Lol. I'm having a hard time thinning my flock though I know I need to.

Hello! I am new to the site and new to backyard chickens as well! I live in Provo and just acquired 2 young barred rock hens last week and have been enjoying learning everything I can about their care. So far the girls seem to be settling into their new surroundings and my kids have loved helping take care of them. It seems everyday I find something new I need to do for the coop, feed or bedding. Now I'm just anxiously awaiting some fresh eggs! So glad I found this site and this specific thread so I can glean from y'alls local wisdom :)

Hi tf..I'm in Spanish Fork.

Welcome tfleuter, I among others here favor the Barred Rocks, those of yours look nice, I love young birds… but it just does not last long enough. Lisa's chicks are cute, even with the puffy heads and twisted feathers.

I saw the lady in Amalga was moving and needed to sell her flock, she might have some nice birds, after all they are her keepers. I would suppose if you had any interest, you might want to take a look at them. Save yourself from showing up here and asking why didn't I get those nice birds that were hand delivered into my lap. Plus, if you are still on the fence, they do need a nice home, with proper care and feeding. Your place would be just the place for them and your daughter would adore you all the more.

Let us know how many you iPick up…

Nice little shower this early p.m.

so I took Lacy my horse to the fair today. She is in the main show barn north of the grandstand. Stall number is 25A I will be there most the time but may end up being in the motorhome to charge my oxygen batteries

Welcome, tfleuter! You will love the BR's :) They are so friendly and sweet.

Does anyone know when the poultry showing is at the fair? DH and I are going either tomorrow morning or Wednesday and I'm hoping to catch the chicken entries while we're there. Sundance, we will be looking for Lacey :)

So I haven't posted a photograph of my new prize winning OEGB SDW Rooster… and in order to correct this, here goes. We washed him this a.m. and I suppose we did not get to him quick enough to dry.

I am not sure if the curl, twist or sizzle will straighten out with the humidly, or if the DW will have to iron each and every feather. What do you guys do when your wash & rinse goes wrong?

I am more than a little distraught over this, hoping the crew can help me with tips and tricks to save face with this little twisted mess I got going on.

Best to all and your birds,

Is it Jeppson's? I hope not because It would be sad if they moved!

Thanks to all for the compliments on cute chickies from my flocks. RCStanley, love your babies, that blue showgirl is sooo pretty! Sending you girlie vibes.

Beautiful Roo RJ! Don't know about the feathers, I have not had that happen. I won't lie, it makes me giggle a little how worried you sound, pretty cute how you are fretting about his 'do. I sure hope it goes back like it should :D I get such a kick out of your posts, I look forward to them, I'm glad you've been on here more lately.

And good luck Sundance! Wish I could make it down that way to see your horse. I am so very happy for you that you were able to find one I can see how happy it makes you :D

Welcome TF! Love BR also, they are the only tan egg layer I keep on a regular basis.
