Utah!

Just an update on my pickled banty egg project… they are the hit of the new year. Demand is pushing hard against supply, and I am getting a dozen a day or so. Not my personal cup of tea, but I like having a market/use for my little productive hard feather flock.

Stay in, stay warm,

RJ
This looks soo good! I'm from the south, and they do a lot of pickled food. :D Have to ask, do these have a spicy taste with that pepper in it? Real spicy, or just a little? Looks so nice. And yummy.

Morning Cynthia… and Happy Ground Hog day to all! It would seem that he/she DID NOT see their shadow… spring is on the way.

I am not a very adventurous eater, so I have never tasted them, but I will inquire of Karole and report her thoughts on the taste and or spiciness of them.

Looks to be a bluebird day, but a cold one… time will tell. Well it is 3 degrees out with a projected high of 20! Heat wave up north.

Cynthia, I meant to say so earlier, but I wonder if your polka dot chicks from Bubba would qualify as California Whites?

I love the idea of overalls with lots of pockets for egg collecting! I usually stuff eggs in my coat pockets and pray that everyone is getting enough calcium.

Well, our ice fishing trip to Fish Lake got cut short by two days :/ The snow was so deep and the wind so bad that they had everyone leave the resort and head down the mountain behind the snowplow, after which they locked the gate. It was a whiteout and quite scary while driving, but I'll be perfectly honest - If I had had even one more day to stay, I would have. Four feet of snow is paradise to me. I was all set to go dig out a spot for our tent on the lake and content myself with fishing for the day :( Sometimes life needs a refund.

I was up there the weekend before. Had an awesome time! It would be fun to be snowed up there if you had enough food/bait

Even with the cold, stormy weather, and so little sunlight, my girls are actively laying and barely took any time off. And, drum roll please, one of our Easter Eggers lays blue eggs. I'm so happy

Pretty eggs teria.

Anyone else getting excited for Pie day? I am over the moon with anticipation for this upcoming day. Of course you guys all know it is going to be on March 14, 2016. I enjoy numerical dates that can be juxtaposed into another form.

Pie's are made from eggs… so we all should be eggcited.

Hey I'm from Texas but visiting family. Do you guys know where I can get chickens around Salt Lake or Sandy by Friday?
The breeds I'm interested in are
Wellsummers
Easter Eggers
Favacaunas
Trying to get some color in my egg carton. Thx!
