Hi, are you in Sandy "proper"?

If so, you can have 6 hens. (no roosters)
If you are in the County, or a county island you can have 8. (10 with a larger lot)
If you are in the County, and zoned A-1, you can have many more.

There are two of us about 8600 South 1300 East area. One on either side of 13th.

Marty

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself in this thread as well. We are new to chickens, we would have had some sooner but the new county code will make it doable for us. We are on the East bench above Wasatch Blvd. near 3900 South. I have not read all 100 pages of this thrad yet but I am excited to see if I have any other chicken people near me!

Still can't figure out why my images only show up as link?

Hi, Welcome Welcome Zombie!

You were using a URL to the page that contained your picture, not the picture URL itself.
You have to get the URL for just the picture (like your picture here http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4028/4489652585_cd26c35b57.jpg )

Then you put a "
" at the end. And it looks like this!
(Nice chicks!)

(P.S. Does anyone have a link to the new ordinance, not just the Trib article? Thanks!)

Thanks for the photo posting info, I will give it a try.

The county code has not actually been changed yet, they are going to have a second "reading" on 4-13 (tomorrow) and then it get put into the code. The vote is done so no worries about it going back, there was only one "no" vote and I guess that Councilman wanted the code to be even looser. The permits will be issued by Salt Lake County Animal Services and they said that they will be available near the end of April. I talked to Pam over there and she was very helpful. I have her direct number if anyone wants it.

Just found this part on the site. I've been visiting the site for about 2 months now getting questions answered and just in awe over how much these people love their chickens! It's awesome!
Anyway, I'm up by Roy in West Haven. Just thought I'd say hello.
