Someone fm this board has kindly offered to let the little dude hitch a ride to SL next time she passes through...if he's still available. Will he be ready to go right out into a coop? (keep in mind we're in PC and unfortunately it's pretty dang cold outside right now!)...

Oh, my husband said we might be able to drive down to Salt Lake tomorrow (Saturday the 28th) Let me know if you can do tomorrow! Maybe we can work something out!!!

I'm the potential transporter. I'll be driving Ogden to SLC & back on Tuesday. If Ninja needs a ride then, I'll be glad to work at coordinating to port him.

Hi everyone! I've noticed everyone ignores my posts but I really need some people in the Orem area to help me out. It turns out I can't keep roosters or Turkeys anymore. I need someone to take my turkey. It breaks my heart to see Tuky go but it has to. I"m not sure of it's gender. All I know is its a Broad Breasted Bronze. I can't post pics now but if you are interested I might be able to post them. Thank you! email me or pm me

Good luck finding a home for your turkey. I'm in the Salt Lake area, but I'll keep you in mind if I come across anybody looking for a turkey.

Been out all morning and unfortunately working the rest of the weekend. If the buyer on Monday is a good home then of course sell to him, I really don't need another chicken (especially one that doesn't lay lol). But he is a cute little dude and if no buyer comes forth then I'd be thrilled to take Speckled Hills up on her transport offer (THANK YOU Laura!) and hope he fits in with the big girls and Izz. My hope is they'll just think they have double vision!

I did get a stern warning fm the husband that he not allowed in the house with Betsy.

She still has her eye infection and she's been an antibotics in her water for a wk now. I have a little human antibotic eye drops left over, does anyone think it would hurt to put one drop/day in the eye for a couple days? We don't eat her eggs, in fact she's stopped laying right now. I can't afford to take her to an a vet, my Dr bills for horses & dogs are big enough. Other than the drops, the antibotic and electrolytes, I'm not sure what else I can do. It gets really goopy and when I clean her, it just re-goops up again.

Poor little girl...

It might be worth contacting Peter Brown at http://www.firststatevetsupply.com/. He's not a real vet, but he does phone consultations for $25.

I was at my wits end after we adopted our two with frostbite... I took them to the avian vet by Ikea and then the third "healthy" one started to get sick. Peter gave some really good advice. When I told him about their story, he was kind of rude and said "well I wouldn't let that happen to MY chickens" and when I said that I wouldn't either, these were rescues, his whole tone changed and he even waived his fee.

I hear ya about all the vet bills. It is expensive enough when they are healthy or just keeping them healthy. I just had the large animal vet out for spring shots. Ouch.

Hi you guys!! Just stopping in for a minute to say hi

We will be moving to Provo in August with land that is zoned for farm animals - we can have up to 25 chickens. I'm soo dang excited!! And it also means we can keep our frizzle mottled cochin bantam rooster - Mr. Muffin. Which just thrills me

Now I need to find him some bantam hens.

Oh he is so so cute! Wish I was moving sooner, I'd totally snag him! I love bantams.
