Utah!

Hi you guys!! Just stopping in for a minute to say hi We will be moving to Provo in August with land that is zoned for farm animals - we can have up to 25 chickens. I'm soo dang excited!! And it also means we can keep our frizzle mottled cochin bantam rooster - Mr. Muffin. Which just thrills me Now I need to find him some bantam hens.

I have three or four Partridge Batams that are two years old that I would be will to part with let me know if you are interested.

Neosporin (or any generic triple antibiotic ointment) WITHOUT pain relief ingredients seems to be okay for treating eye infections. The label says not to use it on people's eyes, but my mom used it a lot on us kids while we were growing up after a doctor told her to. I know Neosporin is safe for treating chicken wounds, and I'm guessing it would be safe for their eye infections, too??? I don't know about other people eye antibiotics--Some people medicines are safe to use on chickens & some are not.

Well guys I have found a home with my turkey. He's living with a woman in Lindon she has many many animals.
I'm still kind of sad becasue I raised Tuky since she was just a little 7 hour old turkey

It's amazing how connected we can get to even our chicken/farm pets, and it's great he found a good home to go to. But I know it still leaves an empty spot that hurts.

Thanks I'll try that, and frankly don't know why I didn't think of it. I've had my equine vet recommended it for a pony I took in with a horrible wound to her eye. It was very hard to get it in her eye, contrary to what I thought. Betsy's smaller so I can pin her down much easier.

Well the home fell through - I'm SO SAD! We were very, very excited to move but we just have to trust that something else is out there. The owners at last minute decided to not move & ironically two days later the family that were going to rent our home to pulled out too b/c the husband lost his job *sigh* Sooo were stuck here & it looks like we will have to find Mr. Muffin a new home

unless by some miracle we find new renters & a new home.

Interesting...

In Salt Lake County, A-1 zone (Agricultural) you can have up to 50 chickens.
Good luck, sounds fun!

Marty

I was wondering about that! But since the sell fell through I've not looked into it.
