Now that's a beautiful combination of color in eggs. I love that. I love the BCM colors. How old are yours? The eggs are still such a pretty dark color. I also love the dark olive color from your EE. That's what I'm wanting next..hoping my barred will lay that, she came from a pretty dark one, but not sure it was that dark..beautiful. Plus, still need that blue blue egg..hoping the girl that I have with my cochins will lay blue, they came from a blue egg.

Are they fullsize or banty? I know others are in line ahead of me but I will take as many as you'll let me. Yeah, that'd be way cool to get a black roo. I'm not really setup for a hen with chicks but I could build a special temporary coop and save the eggs for ya if it all works out. But my blue girl is banty which could put a wrench in the works. We love the little eggs but the people who buy my extras don't.

Thanks!

Stupid question -- what's a BCM? Love that color. My one older girl that lays olive has long eggs too! You were SO lucky getting the different colors, how neat! Call me silly but I just love all the colors and when I put them in cartons I also arrange them all so each color is in the same place. I'm a dork.

Thanks!

They are large fowl! If you get a black roo, with a splash hen, that would work, or even if I get lucky and get some lavender chicks, but there I go, counting before they are hatched again. Will have babies in about a month...not sure how many, but we shall see.
I got these eggs from a gal on here..sonew123...look her up...she is a sweetheart. I think you will recognize her face, she posts often.

ElkMtn, I loved that too. I had 8 laying hens, and not a one laid the same color as her sister. I hope to have something similar this time around too (I lost all my hens to a critter attack in Nov and am trying to start over). I also arranged my eggs in the carton so they'd be all pretty and not touching another egg of the same color. I'll sit on the dork bench with you. LOL

I was planning on buying my EE as day olds from IFA or wherever since I had such great luck last time- that's where I got the olive egger. I really think they were my favorites for sure.

K, thinking about the possibility of pure Ameraucana chicks got me thinking to what else I 'should' get.

What lays the darkest uniform brown egg that is a good layer year round, cold hardy? The RIR or the black sex link? I've never had a sex link and my Rhodie's eggs are brown but not real dark. My Welsummer and Cuckoo Maran's eggs are nice...but not steady layers.

Thanks for any advice!
