Utah!

I think my patience is about worn out.

I am just starting day 20 (well, it'll start in 3 hours) with my eggs incubating, and I'm really bummed out that none have pipped. I know that's silly and ridiculous.

I decided to quit all sugar (including my beloved mountain dew addiction) for the month of January, and I think it has me a bit edgy.

I was just thinking last night, '2 more days til the babies hatch'! I cannot recall seeing GLW chicks, so I keep getting on here to see if you have news or pics

Hang in there with your resolution...I could never go without chocolate for a whole month! I am impressed!

Anyone in Utah County want a Silver laced Wyandotte rooster? He's 6 months old and just found his voice and we can't keep him here. He does have leg and feet problems - when he was about 4 weeks old some thing happened and he couldn't walk. We made little "feet" for him and did chick pt (physical therapy) with him for about 3 weeks, and he learned how to walk again, but he's wobbly and shaky still. I'm in the Alpine/Highland area if you are interested - he's free!

Wow, that is so awesome of your to give your chick PT, poppycock. Very awesome of you! I'm not interested in having a rooster right now.

You guys, I can hear chirping from egg #3. i am so excited!! No pips yet though.

Ohh..my bad..I was thinking an Old English Game Hen was a bantam..

I will have to look them up. I have had three bantams in with my large fowl. I have one now that jumped up into her fav. next box, right beside the nest box that my very large Partridge Rock was in. She is more the bossy one. No one bothers her at all, if that is what you are worried about. Was just over at a frineds..like I said, with the Nankins, and he has allll of his birds together. The Nankins, the larger fowl, which is mostly red star, but has a gorgeous Buff Roo..huge, and a beautiful RIR Roo, with a blue mix color of an EE, and a white rock and a welsummer..you get the picture. He has a lot of Nankins that keep hatching out babies.

I've been to many places that have the bantams with the large fowl. No problem!

Wait, Old English Game Hens are bantams! Are you wanting a bantam?

Poppycock - That's pretty cool that you've taken care of your rooster like that! I have a SLW pullet that limps everywhere, and we think it's because one of her legs is shorter than the other. I wonder if it's something common in that breed? Or perhaps a hatchery strain? I don't know where you got your rooster from, but my girl is from IFA.

Sphinx - Sorry to add to the tension, but any pips yet?

You guys have me excited about this now.

My SLW girl was from IFA, and her legs were fine. I thought she was extraordinarily pretty for being a hatchery chick too. I don't think she was show quality, but she had great lacing. Maybe she came from a different strain?

Still no pips.
