Utah!

so i was not getting any emails but it turns out i had to resubscribe

i like some things about this new site but hate other parts. i do not always do well with change

Ditto. Plus all the "stuff" they have added has made it impossible to load a simple page (I have a satellite connection). So I will probably not be posting much, if any, just looking in if I have an emergency. :(

Cynthia -- not sure if you'll get my PM but please email me directly (not via this site now) about true americana chicks.

To the owner of the site -- I understand the need for income, hence all the ads, but the reviews? I'm lost why we need those here...

Yeah, I hate the reviews. It seems silly to me.

Red, I'm willing to get rid of chicks 3,4 and 5 whenever. My only concern is a single chick doesn't do well alone, so I'd want you to take at least two. ;-)

Cynthia, I'll probably buy one of your chicks from you when you've hatched them. Tell me what all you're incubating now.

Ohhhh, I am so going to see if I can swing this now, Sphinx. What do you think you'd sell them for? I'd be particularly interested in numbers 3 and 5. I need to see if I can get a brooder set up for them first, as I don't want to get my hands on chicks and then realize I'm ill prepared to care for them. Got my fingers crossed.

I'd sell them to you for $4 each, and I'd even deliver them to you on Saturday!

Setting up a brooder is really easy- for my first batch, I just got a big rubbermaid tote. I put dirt in the bottom (not really doable this time of year), but others have used shredded newspapers, shavings, etc. Small food dispenser and small waterer. Then I bought a brooding lamp from Walmart for just a few bucks (under $10, I think). At this point, you could put just a plain old 75 watt bulb in it.

Hulksmash managed to break free of her hulk bandaid, so I tried electrical tape. Busted right through that too. Now I have a rubberband on there, and it seems to be working really well.

I was playing with the wing feathers coming in on the chicks, and both of the lighter chipmunks have dark feathers coming in. Maybe they will look like proper GLW after all.

My BR laid a more pullet-ish size today. Pretty ones tho, they are a bit shiny too like my little bantam's. I am getting emails now, looks like they just were not quite done yet

I did re-subscribe too just to be sure ! The new site is on my naughty list still. Just feels weird. Everything always does at first though when there is a change. The pictures/uploads/ posting is still kinda funky to me

. At least we have our home back though, I was lost yesterday, actually got some stuff done around the house though haha

I'm getting notifications in my mail too. This morning they went to my inbox, but now they are going to my junk mail? I don't like that. I usually just delete that pretty quick, but guess I will have to be on the watch, it's kind of neat.

Red..love your Avitar!

Elk, I e-mailed you. I'll let you know again here. I have 5 pures in now, and one EE that is going into lock down on Tues.

I just got my other pure Americana lavenders eggs today..will set them tomorrow. They will hatch in three weeks.

I will want to keep one chick from each hatch. Not sure how many will hatch..will just have to wait. It's just this weekend. Then we will know for sure how many I get that are actually lavender. Remember, these will be lavender/splits, meaning, I could get black ones that carry the gene.

I just got a message that the guy sent my Silver Penciled Partridge Rocks yesterday. He is so nice to send those to me because of how the others were.

I am going to have a lot of chicks. Will be posting pics when they get here. At least I hope I get a lot of my lavenders to hatch, and the penciled..I have 25 live chicks coming at the first of the month, now those will be girls for sure. Hoping no one made a mistake, and threw a baby boy in there.

And, I really don't like the reviews at the side either! Buggy for now, but will try and ignore them. At least when we are writing each other, they aren't there.

Wait, figured it out...go to preference, check the box that you prefer for wide screen! I think it will work. Then, when you want to make a new post, don't hit reply on the last post, posted, scroll down, you will see the wide screen.

If you go to the email in your junk folder and you mark it as 'not junk' that should fix it. Or go to the line of the sender and right click it and add it to your address book, then it should not go to junk folder....worth a try anyway :) somethings techie things do not go as planned lol=)

Thanks! That's my new Leghorn sampling some snow melt. I caught sight of her rolling around in the dirt today. It looked like she was having good fun, especially when she got done for a second and came out to see me. I'm not kidding, her expression was like this:

And that's awesome that he is sending you some replacements! You're going to be up to your ears in fluffballs.

Hey, $4 apiece and delivery sounds like a deal to me! I will work on my setup and let you know for sure. And I find it funny that Hulksmash ripped up both the bandaid and the tape..............
