Skunknchattr, I was planning on hatching all my chicks this year. I hadn't heard of that hatchery, but I love their practices, and am mentally filing it away for future reference.

So, my chicks are starting to get their wing feathers in, and I think I'm seeing the GLW lacing on all of them. Well, except chick #1. She's getting lacing, but it appears to be lighter colors. Isn't that kind of wild?

This little baby looks like a girl already! It's getting it's tail fealthers already...good sign. And, it looks like it could be EE, Can't tell by the pic, but can you see a hint of green on the legs starting? Even if not, it could be..or a buff just mixed with another breed. Sure is going to pretty!

Love this thread! That was the one I followed very closely for awhile, til some yahoo got ornery and they closed the thread This is where I decided getting rid of mean birds was ok, that "it was part of life" and I would get over it It helped me feel much less guilty.

I don't think so, that wasn't one of the breeds listed by the seller. I kind of lean towards Godzilla being a GLW/buff orpington mix. There's definitely no green in her legs at all. If ya'll want to speculate, I can c&p the breeds she listed as having.

She is one that I feather sexed to be a girl. So far, the ones I predicted girl HAVE been feathering in faster, and I think I see the beginnings of a couple tails.

Did you see the KSL ad for fertile BLRW eggs down in Lehi? $1 each. I'd be willing to hatch them for you if you want to buy the eggs. I'd keep one as commission.

Shoot, I was going to upload a pic of my BLRW, but it is now saying the same thing I went through on the old site. I have put pictures up on here, wonder why it won't work now? Hmm, I may have to call that gal..we don't live far from here. See how many roos to hens.
I can see on her add..how many roos now, and that she has thinned them, so, I called, she isn't home yet! lol..I was 5 mins. too early according to her ad! Left her my name, see if she calls me back.

I made arrangements to buy 7 of those BLRW eggs, and will pick them up on Sunday, when we can meet in the SL valley.


And, I'm kind of shocked and excited. I put a paypal donate button on my chick cam page, saying if I got enough donations to buy a better camera, I would. I never thought anyone would actually do it!

She called me back.

She will call me when she gets 12 for me. Someone that wants 7...

is going to meet her on Sunday..and a man wants some.
So, maybe next week. Which is perfect, so I will have these a week apart from my others I just set. She says that her roosters are going for money on KSL..that would be great.
Hey, you and I will be hatching the same kind of babies at the same time..just days apart.

Do you see what you made me do? More eggs! They are pretty. Now I will have a SLW, and a BLRW..

Actually, Cynthia, I'm blaming you. It's your fault. You enabler you!!!

My husband claims to be indifferent to chicks and chickens BUT: he tends to play with and hold the chicks more than I do. Also, he took my incubator to work today and buffed out a foggy spot for me. He also is perfectly cheerful to drive 50 miles to pick up these eggs on Sunday. Of course, I told him we could go to the auto show while we're there, and he knows how I feel about that.


Tomorrow my 6 year old starts selling girl scout cookies.
