Utah!

That's funny, that chick wants a larger area to spread it's wings! I've had some get up on top of the water container, or the feeder and sit there, then next thing I know, one is sitting on the edge of the tub. Have to put an extra lid I have over that end.
You aren't really interested in another black are you. This one is so tiny. I know it isn't a bantam, unless the bantam that laid that egg is big...big.
The blue, or splash looks girly to me, but I guess they are hard to sex at this age, and even with the lavender's ages that we have now. I posted in a couple of different places I thought folks would know. Three months to see the comb to really start developing, then the feathers, both hackle and saddle. So, I don't know what to tell you. I looked at the feathers starting to show up already, and they look blue, not seeing any dark spots..yet. :) Could be a blue. She's pretty. Fluffy, with the slight color of yellow on the sides like the lavenders had. She is a lot lighter though, that's why I'm thinking this is a splash. Not sure yet.
I have three eggs pipped. The last one that has pipped is quite green. One of the blues has really gotten started on it. I should have a few babies by morning. I will bring a few babies for you to look at. I will have a warmer in there, they will be fine. I just want you to get what you want. Do you want me to bring the tiny little black one? A special baby for sure.
Do you have an idea as to when you will be able to be at Winco? Just a guess time wise?
Talk later. Will update if a baby hatches soon. :))

Cynthia--wont get to SLC til 2, so it might be later evening if that is ok? I am thinking earliest 7:30....latest 8ish? That gives some wiggle room for dinner. Is that ok? We can get home late, we have a three day weekend so tomorrow is our big fun day. Want to get the babies last so no more stops with the dog in the car lol. First, I want to be sure you keep the ones you want, I do not want to take one of your favorites! My 1st choice would be the light one, and if you keep it I would take the black as a 2nd choice. I just need one to keep Ozzie company :) I am really falling in love with my other blacks. I think they are my favorite (looks wise) in my flock. Violet is my sweetheart BR, my fave personality, and the GSL my fave layer, and my blacks....gorgeous looks....their feathers are so pretty--purplish green in the light, do all black feathers do that? Amazing.
So I will call you from SLC (afternoon) just to confirm the plan ok! And see how it is going with the newbies. I can drive as far as you need me to if Winco is not convenient! Thanks so much :D I am excited to see my new babies.

i am about 95% sure i want the pencil rock but i think i may want to find a home for a leghorn or two first, they have not even been laying a year yet but are molting. when laying they crank them out like craze, one even went broody for me last year. i will not put them on ksl. i want them to go to a good home so that is why i am asking here first. is anyone intrested? also cynthia how much would you want for the pencil rock?

Lisa, sounds good! Will talk to you tomorrow sometime. And I am leaning on keeping the little black one, it's so cute, that even Austin has to hold it. :) So I will bring the blue, or splash, lol..and will see what hatches by tomorrow morning. These babies are taking their time. Will be the middle of the night before anything, I'm guessing.

Ok we have a plan. I will bring extra money in case there is a third one I can't resist lol! Birdman I won't be around the 'puter tomorrow but if you find a home for your leghorns and want me to pick up a SPR at Cynthia's by tomorrow night and drop him on our way back I can still do it. Just let her know to send it with me and pm her your info/address/phone or whatever we need to find you and I can get the info when I see her. Thanks!

I got my application in and review fee paid ($35!) at T'ville city on Wednesday. The council meeting where they'll decide is March 13. They said I should get a review summary from the committee prior to that. We'll see what happens now.

SDWarren, wow, they make you go through all that, pay the fee, and THEN it goes to committee? What a bureaucratic nightmare! I hope you get a positive answer.

Cynthia, omigosh, they think that lavender looks to be a boy? I would've guessed girl, given the back feathers. That settles it. I refuse to even contemplate gender on my lavenders for a while. I try not to compare, but it seems like all of my BLRW are feathering in faster than the lavs. I wonder if that's normal. I just am hoping one of the lavenders turns out to be a girl. That's all I want.

I'm jealous of Cynthia & Lisa's meetup today, wish I could be there.

Sphinx, wish you could be there too!
I know I am disappointed that they..meaning, only one they..said the lavender looks to be feathering out like a boy. Then another said, you pretty much have to wait until around three months to see the comb development. Guess we'll see.
