Utah!

:drool That sussex!!! Gorgeous girl! Pretty markings. i hope your Dallas is ok, to hear he perked up a bit, might be good news......hey did he eat any chocolate by chance? Sounds like what happened when my dog got chocolate poisoning. at least the shaking and lethargic. Mine got ahold of a little ghirardelli square, 60% dark choc too, the worst kind for dogs, and he almost died but made it through. I hope whatever it is he will be ok, hang in there Cynthia, sending you good vibes and hugs :hugs

I did take the eggs out, put them in a carton, set them out in the trash, then came back in to see posts saying it is worth a try, hurried back in plugged them in, we will see! I thought there was no way. So I did get it running again within a few minutes. Used the blowdryer to warm it up fast on the top of the bator, making sure not to get too hot, get the eggs warmed right back up.... Will see, crossing fingers. The feeling when I went in there and saw 67 on the dial....pit in my stomach, so sad, I was so so so mad at myself for letting that happen.

Oh good, you never know. give them a chance. Candle tomorrow night. Remember, the mama hen will get off of the eggs for quite a while sometimes. Then back she goes. You may have a couple make it, even after all that moving around. They are far enough along, I'm thinking you might.
Thank you for the well wishes. He still isn't eating. Just laying around. Not him at all. I was in tears last night with this. He scared me half to death. I don't think he got hold of chocolate. I am wondering if he got hold of something outside. I haven't seen him eat the old apples, but maybe?
The chickens will pick at them, so will the Robins. :)

Can't wait until you candle tomorrow night! How long until lock down?

Oh, thanks for the compliment on my Sussex. She is getting prettier all the time. The older she gets, the more white that shows up. Can't wait to see her as a hen!

5 days left. Wednesday....then hatch Saturday. If there is a prayer. So sad., I was thinking 11 little beings were in there needing me in the night and I did not have a clue. Argh....I even wonder if when i candled them last night the plug jiggled just enought that it stayed in when I looked, then feel out afterward. Learned my lesson on that. Duct tape the plug to the wall next time.

Cynthia, I really hope Dallas pulls through and recovers.

That would be so upsetting. Keep us updated. Your lavender is beautiful, and I adore that sussex.

Lisa, I hope you have a couple of your eggs pull through. I agree- candle tonight and see what they're doing.

I got my preschool eggs home. All four of the lav lav/amer mixes are doing awesome- saw them wiggling around and everything. There's 3 BCM. I saw movement in all three of them, but they look much smaller than I'd expect at this age- they looked more like 6 days along instead of the 10 they're supposed to be. Also, one of them appeared to have a blood ring, so I'm pretty sure it's not going to make it. The breeder was very unsure of the BCM eggs- she felt like they'd gotten too cold and wasn't sure they were viable. So, I am mentally prepared to only have the four blue eggs hatch. I think my next hatch will be all BCM, particularly since I don't think the others will make it.

Cynthia, your Yorkie didn't get into snail bait, did he? And if not that, have you had him checked for diabetes? My mom has a 13-yr-old Jack Russel Terrier that is diabetic, and he shakes awfully when we've seen him go into shock. He won't eat, walks around like he's drunk, drinks a lot of water and pants a lot. The vet figured out pretty quick what was wrong with him, so now he gets insulin shots twice a day and he does fine.

Also, I love seeing your SS. So pretty. I'm sad that my SS chick didn't make it

I wanted an English girl for the yard, and I hear they're good foragers, too.

Sphinx, glad to hear you got the eggs home okay. I hope those BCM's make it alright.

Lisa - Here's hoping for your eggs! I've had times like that too, where I have a feeling I need to check on something, ignore it, and then later am kicking myself because I could have averted potential disaster if I'd just listened. So you're not alone. It happens to all of us.

So glad some of them look good Sphinx! The lavs are such adorable chicks! I am hoping to get some BLRW from Donna tomorrow, and then I have some BCM eggs coming, from Paul ID, along with Blue orp, and Wheaten Ameraucana eggs a dozen mixed. I really wanted the BCM, they are nice and dark... but she did not have enough for a dozen, so the others to fill the order....depends on how many they lay over the weekend then sending them Monday. Hoping for good luck with the shipping, Monday is cold...I want to get them in so that they will hatch before the Chickenstock, then (if they hatch) I can take my pick and then take remaining chicks there if I cannot find them homes on KSL or BYC locally.

Crossing fingers I do not goof these up. Donna I am still coming to see you...Will text you at lunchtime tomorrow and let you know what our timing is.

hey cynthia flax is very good for the liver, i would try giving your dog some. best of luck everyone. i went to cal ranch, got a bunch of feed and more oyster shell. i went through 50lbs on oyster shell in one year but this year i think i will use more because i am feeding all flock now. oh i have been keeping close track of my cost and most months i break even or make a little bit of a profit and i mainly sell eggs to my grandpa and he refuses to take them for free. plus i give lots away for free.
