Utah!

thanks all, Here are the 2 little ones.

And this one is having issues...but I did get some food down him.

and I have to put one of Mai Tye up...It makes me laugh.

I am sorry to say that was one of the worst kiddings I have had. There were 5, All boys, very tangled up...I managed to save 2 but one is having problems and I am not sure he will make it. We had to put down the mom. I spent most of the afternoon crying, she was one of the favorites. I will get pics of the 2 little ones soon....Got to make sure all the babies eat.
Thanks
She was my lap goat

Cynthia did you hear from our mutual friend today? Hope he made it

Still coming up with names for my littles you sent. I seriously might call the blue one tiny tot. It fits

Yes I did, he was very quiet at first. He felt bad he didn't make it today. He has been busy, I understand. He didn't have to help, but he had three more calves born today. All went well today. That's interesting you said mutual friend. I told him I was going to announce on our site what he needed to go up north for..won't mention it here, but anyway, he says..don't put my name on there..I say..too late! We both laugh, and I told him I would pm you if I wanted to talk about him..lol...he's funny.
He needs to go to Ogden and Logan in the next couple of days. He still wants your Orpintons. He gets his feed for the steer in Ogden. He gets something else for his cows in Logan. He said he thought he mentioned it to you. Anyway, I told him I know he has to busy, and that I would just put these others out with the others.

I told him thank you for letting me know what's up, and he said thank you for keeping them for him. So, we will see him, it just has to be when he has time to get up there, and he needs to get up there soon..this week.

Aww that first one is so gorgeous, the colors are awesome! So so sad you lost so much today....poor mama....My heart goes out to you guys. :hugs
Glad you shared it with us, we were really rooting for them all.

Cynthia, thanks for the info. Ya he told me he had stuff up here but would be on the weekend likely. Kind of not last weekend :) I told him to get on here and post, he did not so it will be his fault if we gab about him haha :)
I am loving these babies, it is going to be hard to let them go. That is the problem, I am getting attached! BUT they do start messing the litter superfast after a week or two old and I am ready to be done with that. I changed it last night and it is getting sketchy again....I have 10 in there now, 5 are mine, 5 are not, so half as many would be more manageable :) Plus I am going to be gone Saturday so I hope he is not planning on coming when I am gone.
Oh that reminds me, when I saw the question about your RIR it made me think--does anyone vaccinate hatched chicks? I have never done it, no reason if they are just for me and I know my flock is healthy...but to sell I never thought about it. I can see why hatchery chicks would need it for sure, so much volume. Is it very expensive?

Sad day for BlueJems. I just can't get over that....has got to be tough. If I could send you an e-cheesecake to cheer you up I would! Poor guys. Hope J. is not too heartbroken, you can see how much she loves them, little sweetheart!

Oh, Blujems, I am so, so sorry. I knew you really loved that mama. What a terrible loss. The two babies are adorable. I really hope that they both make it and are healthy. I'm practically in tears for you. I love that hilarious smiling goat picture though; that's great.

BckyrdfarmerDeb! I have to admit that if I had a hen that was older than two months, there's no way I would let it go at this point. The folks in this group are really honest, but if you are looking for hens much bigger than what Cynthia is offering, like hens that are laying, you have to be really careful. Many people will try to pass off spent/old hens as really young ones and then you get something that will never lay the way you want.

To answer the vaccination question, no, I've never vaccinated a chick. Have you Cynthia?

Welcome Deb! You'll have fun here. There are a lot of friendly and helpful people on this thread and the rest of the forums. I hope you can track down some good, new girls to add to your flock. It's so exciting when new members of the "family" arrive.

Lisa, I don't vaccinate mine, though I do give them some antibiotics when they're little. I have no idea if my boyfriend has ever vaccinated his - probably not. I know he'll do that with the horses and possibly when he's raising a calf, but I'll have to ask him about poultry and get back to you on it.

Sphinx, your icon still cracks me up. It's going to take along time for that to get old!
