I snuck a couple I hope you don't mind just too cute to not put on my facebook and my screen saver. I took the chicks in a stocking and the Guard Dog. Yur coop also looks fantastic!

We are finishing the prototypes of our first line of coops for Noahz Park clients. So far they are really cute but we need to put some hens in there and get the final "approval".

Well Mike went out and watched the chickens for awhile and He thinks that the blue splash wheaton is a hen. So I guess it is a wait and see.
That hen sparkles legs are dark, Not sure of a color at the moment. I was to dizzy to try and get up close and personal with her last night. Mike said he thought they were a gray when she was younger. So I don't know for sure. will have to check when I am not so out of it.

Hope you feel better today! I hope he is right about that Wheaten. I have had a hard time getting my new girls to roost at night, they keep staying out in the run in the corner, up on top of a cage out there. My son and I have been manually putting them in the coop after dark, they stay for a few minutes then wander out again. Kept trying til midnight last night, still they were outside freezing at 5 am this morning. Hopefully soon, at least the weather has been decent and will be for a bit, I am not going to stress too much about it so long as in a week or so they get the idea.

Chicks I am selling due to someone not showing up to get them......1 splash blue wyandotte, possibly frizzled guessing boy, 2 BLRW both look like girls to me, 3 gorgeous blue orps from SQ stock no clue on these for gender, if anybody wants dibs let me know. Going to get the ad back up today. I should have taken them to Idaho Saturday, darn it!

Yeah, sorry Lisa..should have known, took too long. When someone really wants them, they make the trip. I had a gal call on my Ameraucana yesterday about the bird..she even got my address and directions. Said she would call again just before she left to make sure it wasn't gone, she was interested in the little one too.
But, someone else called, she is from Eagle Mountain. I just told her, I did have someone call, but I am not holding them, so if she wants them, to come get them. We met at Winco.

She wanted them. No bones about it. That's the way it should work. Hope you get yours sold. I'm kind of surprised I'm not getting calls on the Exchequers. Now what am I going to do with all of the chicks that will be hatching? lol..they say, don't count your chicks before they hatch...now I'm afraid to. LOL.. I thought they would be something folks would be interested in. I think people are still leery of the flighty and noisy reputation these birds have. I've had four through the years..not noisy, yes a little flighty, I clip wings if they are. I love my Miss Piggy! She comes right beside me when I bend down to look into my teen coop to check them out.

Cynthia, Lisa, god luck to you both on finding new homes for the chicks! I would take more off your hands, if I weren't full up on the babies I have right now. These Icelandics are the last chicks I'm getting for a while, otherwise I'd be happily purchasing a few more from the both of you.

Cynthia, I agree, those leghorns have fun personalities. That little white hen I had for a while was so inquisitive and cute. She'd come right up and circle our feet while waiting to be picked up or get a back scratch. She was never very noisy. Just a gem. I really wish I could take one of those Exchequers for you. Maybe at another point in time, no?

jf, I'll be honest - I was naughty and just got chickens and a coop going without anyone's approval, other than my dear mother's. I live in West Valley and have seen so many people around here with them running around. The laws in WV aren't very good about that kind of stuff. Legally, there is a very small percentage of people that can have chickens, but not many people pay attention to that rule, unfortunately. At some point here when I've got more time, I intend to march over to City Hall and put up a fight to get those ordinances changed. I don't think the city should be able to tell me everything I can and can't do, right down to wiping my nose. This is all just my personal opinion, mind you.

I'm relieved! I'm finally getting my hands on a nail gun tonight, so I'll be able to finish the run and get the big girls moved in this week, hooray! They are more than ready to have their own space to run around in the daytime.

Ok, no Exchequers for now, just in three weeks when the others hatch.

Ahh, a new run for the chickens. Always a great thing. They will just love it!

This is a long shot but does anyone have 1 or 2 coop ready chicks they want to sell? I almost got a Delaware from Sunnybrooke, but I just couldn't risk it coming in and bringing my current flock anything because I've read here that her chicks aren't always in the best conditions. I don't want to do baby chicks again this year, all of mine are out in the coop and I'm happy to have my space back. :)

leghorns drive me crazy at times but i do have two that will have a home here for life, they are birds that love to just sit with me and relax and will sit with me all day if i let them. leghorns are different for sure but they do not eat much and they still lay tons of eggs. :)
