I have a two month old, or a bit older, RIR that is running with my others. I also have some Exchequer chicks..they are close to three weeks, so they are pretty young. They do mature fast though, and will lay like no other. lol..
I'm in Spanish Fork..

I've read that RIR can be aggressive to other birds in a flock, have you found that to be true? I'm intrigued by the leghorns...but I'm just afraid of one flying over our fence. We don't have a roof over our run, would wing clipping keep them behind their fence? We have a 4 foot fence surrounding the coop (which we know we may need to make higher eventually but we do plan on clipping one wing) and a 6 foot privacy fence surrounding our whole yard. We have 5 dogs on one side, so I would not like a chicken to make it to that side of the fence.

This is a long shot but does anyone have 1 or 2 coop ready chicks they want to sell? I almost got a Delaware from Sunnybrooke, but I just couldn't risk it coming in and bringing my current flock anything because I've read here that her chicks aren't always in the best conditions. I don't want to do baby chicks again this year, all of mine are out in the coop and I'm happy to have my space back.

We have some silver laced wyandotts that are out in the coop now. But like Lisa were in cache valley to.

i get my de from steve reagan co. so a friend is looking for 2 blrw pullets, she would like them to be coop ready, does anyone have some like this for sale?

Picture time! These are a few pics of the broody hen's chicks. She was being ultra protective of them and the lighting in the coop isn't the best, so it was hard to get any pictures at all. I managed to get a couple of so-so shots, though:

JF, I don't know what the fee is. Seems like someone here (maybe UtahChickenDad?) actually did the coop inspection and fees, maybe he'll pipe up? I actually live in Davis county, but I'm a realtor by profession, so I try to know ordinances on certain things for clients.

I finally got my eggs set this afternoon- been so busy that I haven't had time to actually go pick up eggs. I set: 3 coronation sussex, 1 silver sussex, an olive egg, an ameraucana egg, and a darker brown egg that's either a cuckoo sussex or a welsummer mix.
