Cynthia - Fun to see a pic of you as a kid! Congrats on your Leghorn cross hatch! Of all my eggs they have been the most difficult to hatch. I know they run the fastest from the roo.![]()

you could pull out the feathers, it may make them yell and hate you for a little bit but it will not kill them and hopefully they will grow back in time for the fair. you can try washing her, take a little lemon juice to the feathers because that will help take the paint off i think, use your finger nails to help scrape the paint off the feathers. good luck! have fun with the coop.paint is exterior latex. What would happen if I pulled out the feathers? Would they grow back? Would it hurt the chickens? When I get back from seattle hubby and I are going to start building another coop. a 4x8 The goal is to make it easier for this old soul to keep things clean, Lots of doors. I think I'm going to paint it purple lime green and pink. The other coop will be for sale.
We're starting construction on our new, larger coop. Got the floor done last night. Coop will be around 8x8, but part of that will be devoted to indoor storage of the food and shavings. I think it'll be really nice when it's all done.
This made me laugh....another funny mental picture of the roo trying so hard to get that girl.....haha![]()

Your cats are beautiful! The white one is so elegant and lovely. What are they like? Do they act like a regular cat or do they have a different tempermant?
Happy, I've seen a couple of her cats..well, one was a kitten, the other a mama, that took in other kitties..the mom was so sweet. They act like a cat, they are a cat. Just not much hair! The kitten wanted to snuggle down, but I was holding it up and looking it over pretty good. The white one in the picture is the mama I was talking about, very calm cat.
Gots to go! I hear yet another baby has hatched! They started last night. I have three of the leghorn mixes out, one of the green EE eggs out, it's a blue, and one paint silkie out. Now, this one that was zipping is out, I can hear it screaming for mom...it's from another green egg. Going to get it and put it into the brooder..will see what color this one is. This is the new bator..so many more are pipped!
Hmmm.... I think I can see a new business here. Bator sitting for chicken lovers who travel. Of course I would get the pick of the litterWoopee!!!! So glad the new one is working well. I may have to upgradeYou are gonna have loads of pictures this time, I can't wait!![]()

My eggs have not shipped yet. I needed to set eggs today or tomorrow, to have them hatch before I go to Seattle on Tue July 3! Frustrating!! Now I want them to be really really late. Watch them come in a week. Worst timing possible![]()
