Utah!

Oh yeah.........

I was driving through Tooele the other day and spied this out in front of Cal Ranch:

It looks to be about 7' or 8'. What do you think - too subtle for the front yard?

The boyfriend suggested that I need a pair of them to flank the front sidewalk

Awsome so you maybe it would keep predators away

What?  My girl hasn't been checking the nest boxes..that I know of.  Maybe that's what that other small brown egg is..because the NH has laid bigger ones, then this one today again was small...I'm confused!  All I know for sure is the big one I saw the NH get off of after being in the box for a while, and, the SS yesterday, it's a lighter egg, which I found out is what they lay.   My Pencil is getting more red!!   :ya Congrats..wish you could get a picture!
silver did not check out the nest boxes, she has not even been squatting, but she is red in the face but her comb is still small. i will post the picture of the egg later, its like a milky brown in color. i bet yours is the one that layed that egg!

Ooooh Birdman, what a pretty little egg! I love those creamy ones.

Sundancen, now there's an idea! It's multifunctional. Freaks out burglars AND predators

Wow... Lot's going on (of course) in the past few days!!

If I miss somebody, I'm sorry, I actually try to go through and take notes when there's that many pages of posts to catch up on=)

OK... here goes... Bird-Man CONGRATS on the egg!! Love all the cool colors you have there!

Red- Birdguy has LOTS of choices, so, again, what the heck?? I like the idea of using the huge chicken to keep away predators.

Joybells; Those Delawares were supposed to be pullets, they were sexed from Cackle Hatchery... those pics so far look pulletish to me=)

Wgidir... London?? HAve fun!! What a beautiful city/country!!

Bleemcfee... WELCOME!!! I second the request to hear more about your chickens=)

Happy-=-- LOVE, love, love the story about the goose, I agree, you should try entering it in one of the contests!!

Iain (sp, sorry) It's fun to see pics of the ducks and geese, they're all poultry, right??

Cynthia Sooo sorry about your showgirls.. what a bummer!, and also that you've been sick, And the chick in the pics was the bigger one, but I have to be honest, I think they're both looking like pullets!! (Yay!! with some reservation, of course=)

Bluejems... thanks for posting the pics of Lisa's chicks.. cute, too bad more of them didn't make it, but I'm sure Lisa will be happy at about the yellow egg hatching!

Sphinx and TeeRex... Love the pics of your coops/runs... It's fun to see how everyone has their chickens housed.. always gives me ideas, too... BTW where do you get the bird netting to go over the top?? I've spotted a hawk flying around occasionally, thinking I better cover my runs...

Polemic... WELCOME!!! And we love to hear about new members chickens=)

And now... my EE from Azriel laid her first egg!!! YIPPEE!!!! I haven't spotted her squatting at all, but she has sure been red in the face for a couple of weeks now... so I was expecting one anytime... but she didn't lay it in the nest boxes... Just out in the run.. the boxes must have had other hens in them, she's kind of low on the totem pole... There is a little bit of disappointment, though.. she didn't lay a blue egg.. it's OLIVE!! So that's not so bad=)

Oh, and we got rain yesterday too... what a blessing!!

Sundance, glad you made it back safely, but sorry that you have bronchitis. No bueno.

delarooshens, congrats on the first egg! I would love to see a picture of the egg and of Azriel.

so now silver the spr squats for me and so did the much younger bo named blondie! blondie has a big comb and wattles and is near the same size so i think i will be getting her first egg in the next few days :)

Jealous of you guys getting eggs.

My oldest duck turned 5 months old this week and unless she is laying them in the pasture after she gets turned out at 9am, I am still waiting for my 1st egg.
