Utah!

Sundance, ugh, I'm sorry that Rusty ended up being a boy. That's such a bummer. I've got one too many roosters myself right now (I think, anyway), sorry!

Moriah, I'm so sorry about your friend. How did she pass away? I'm glad you liked that blog post. Beyonce was last year's anniversary gift. You should read what she did this year. I found it hilarious. DH, not so much? I think he worries it'll give me ideas... Wow, leghorns instead of cornish crosses? I bet that was a surprise.

Cynthia, thanks for the link on keeping chickens cool. I'll definitely have to try some of those suggestions out.

HERE IS A WONDERFUL SITE ON HOW TO KEEP YOUR BIRDS SAFE FROM THE HEAT! IT ALSO HAS MANY OTHER THINGS YOU CAN LOOKE INTO. I WAS SOO WORRIED ABOUT MY RED SEXLINK YESTERDAY. SHE HAD THAT PALE COLOR THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IN THIS ARTICLE WHILE SHE WAS IN THE NEXT BOX. I HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE FROZEN WATER OUT YET. WHAT AM I THINKING?! I DID THAT LAST YEAR, KEEPS THE WATER SO NICE AND COOL FOR THEM, THEY LOVED THAT. I ALSO WANT TO COOL DOWN MY NESTING BOXES LIKE THEY SUGGEST AFTER SEEING MY POOR SEXLINK, I THOUGHT MAYBE I WAS GOING TO COME HOME TO A DEAD GIRL AS WE WERE LEAVING WHILE SHE WAS LAYING. YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW HAPPY I WAS TO SEE HER OUT IN THE YARD WHEN WE CAME HOME. SHE IS ONE OF MY SWEETEST BIRDS!

Very interesting, thanks for sharing!!

Thank you Cynthia! I learned a lot and I am so glad that you posted that!

I especially liked the ideas of putting frozen waterbottles in the nesting boxes with lid lid propped open a little bit and using a tipped over bucket or garbage can in a shady spot with ice bottles. There was a lot of good advice in there.

Wheeeee! Just got to say hi to Sasha again, and I got to meet Trex and Ducklover, as well. Good to see you guys!

Cynthia, thank you again for the Exchequer. She is very sweet and sooo pretty. I think I shall call her Chelsea

Sundancen, that must have been a rude surprise. How dare he decide to be a boy? Hehe.

Red, you have her already? Great..glad you like her. These Exchequers have the cutest little voice. They are flighty, I just clipped the wings of my girl last week. She can still get up in the top part of the coop for roosting, but, I don't mind that..I just don't want her in my neighbors back yard, which is what she was thinking about doing I do believe.
Sasha is a cutie all right. What a nice family. Sasha, you look just like you do in your pictures. Pretty lady. Sweetheart too, gave me a hug goodbye even though I have a cold. I felt bad that this cold wasn't gone by the time she came. It started last Tues. thought it would be more gone than not by now, but, it's still here.
I'm usually more fun to be around, and more entertaining at my house, just ask Wendy. lol...
I was just slow poke me today.
How nice of her to drop baby chicks off for others. We have a great group here, picking up, dropping off..coming over!

Hot out there again. Trying to find a picture that I saw on fb. Goes along with this heat. I thought it copied, but it didn't will try again..pretty cute.
Drink lots of water everyone! Especially if you are going to be out.

Found it. :))

Thanks. She's had severe depression for years and just couldn't go on. Very sad. So I was especially grateful for the blog smile. I'll have to looks for this year's anniversary post - I doubt that your DH should worry. You don't need anyone else's ideas

Iain, you might want to set up some way that you could accept donations from folks to help with the vet fees. I believe you can do donations through Paypal, or you might be able to set up something with your financial institution. The second one is iffy, though. I'm not sure what a bank or credit union would be willing to do with this, but it's worthy a try, I suppose.

Got a picture of my Welsummer/RIR (it feels weird now calling her a RIR)

Here she is next to my GLW. If she's not a RIR, she's having one heck of an identity crisis!

This little Rhoad Island Red looks to be about the same age as my new RIR. How old is yours? Yours might be a bit older, but not by much.

nice RIR the shanks are a nice yellow with that red "horn" color running down the middle. hard to find in RIR's

Interesting... didn't know that about RIR's...

SPhinx, have you had any eggs from your Leghorn crosses yet?? The ones I got from Cynthia are very small, but they look very different from one another... one stand more upright, like a Leghor, and has a shorter body but has the slate legs one has a longer body but yellow legs... curious to see what they end up looking like..
