Utah!

Sundance, cute about the chick roosting in the big coop. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. She's had severe depression for years and just couldn't go on. Very sad. So I was especially grateful for the blog smile. I'll have to looks for this year's anniversary post - I doubt that your DH should worry. You don't need anyone else's ideas

Aw I'm so sorry. That is very rough. I've dealt with depression ever since I was very little, so I know how it can go. I'm fortunate, though. Mine isn't as severe as it could be, and I'm able to get antidepressants to help balance some things out. I'm very sorry to hear that you lost your friend.

This little Rhoad Island Red looks to be about the same age as my new RIR. How old is yours? Yours might be a bit older, but not by much.

She's about 5 months now, I believe. I actually have the age recorded somewhere in a journal entry, otherwise I'd forget completely. I am so close to getting a nest box built for them, too. It's killing me not having a box out there for them! I'll be out back tomorrow with a hammer and nails putting that thing together. I'm dying to see if any of my girls are ready to start laying yet.

nice RIR the shanks are a nice yellow with that red "horn" color running down the middle. hard to find in RIR's

Thank you! I got her as a baby from the feed store, and she's been such a good bird. I love her dark red color and how chatty and sociable she is.

Red---I almost forgot, let me know how many BR chicks you want

Cindy said there were three that hatched. You are welcome to them all, I have no one else that has spoken for any and my Violet is not to be replaced anytime soon

Happy, I am headed to Idaho Falls this weeked and should see Birdguy if you want me to bring anything else back for you, I am in Logan. Now if I can just make it back with no more for myself!!

Lisa, welcome back!! Glad you guys had fun and were safe traveling! I'm glad you could get away from the computer for a while. Yep, I was going to ask if I could take all three of the BR's, if that's alright. They'll probably be going to my neighbor when they're a little older, but don't worry. He's good about caring for his animals, too. I've seen his coop and yard where he lets them run around. Nice and spacious. And I'd be able to check in on them from time to time, too

Missed you girl!

Met Sasha today. I felt so bad, that I have this cold. I hope they don't get it. Family was here too. She hugged me anyway. What a sweetheart. I think I already said that somewhere else. Everyone here is a sweetheart. Yep.
Her girls loved my Golden Retriever, he loved them right back. :) So did my little dogs. Dogs know good folk.
Ditto, Cynthia! I missed Lisa, too. :) Can't wait to see her in the next couple days and give her her new babies.

I'm totally in love with one in particular, and I think she's going to love it, too!

Yes, I finally got to meet Cynthia today! Brought the whole family of course, because we were on our way home from Richfield. I think most of us were pretty out of it, we partied hearty! We are huge dog people, and have done everything from rescue work to showing, and my step daughter, Brittany, is in school to be a vet.
It was tons of fun to meet all of Cynthia's chickies! Miss Piggy even laid the single egg of the day while we were there.

A cold has never stopped me from hugging anyone. That's what my essential oils are for.

We got to see Red/Whitney briefly today as well, because we shuttled her new Exchequer from Cynthia. What a pretty, sweetheart of a teenage chick she is. Yep, think I'm going to have to get me one of those next year. Oh, ya'll thought I was talking about Whitney? LOL! She's a pretty, sweetheart of a gal, too!

OK, that might have been a little lame....I'm too tired to tell. So, I'm off to bed! I'll try playing catch up on our Utah thread tomorrow. G'night, everyone!

Oh, one more thing-all my chickens survived without me, thanks to my VT. But I was darn pleased when all my chickens came running to me at the gate I went out to the run to see them.

Oh, Sasha. That made me laugh. I'm glad you guys made it home safely and received a proper chicken greeting!

So I neglected to mention earlier, but I think that my EE roo will be joining the two cockerels who are going to freezer camp. He's been pushing his luck for a while now, what with spurring me and other such things, but I hit my limit yesterday when I found out that all three of the boys were trying to mob mate my Marans hen, and the EE roo didn't even do a thing about it! Dominant, my eye. And then, to make matters worse, when I locked the boys up and found my hen, I noticed that she's getting bald on her head. I asked my boyfriend who did it, and he said it was the EE roo. He's just been pecking the hen hard for no reason.

I'm sorry, but we're not having any of that nonsense. My girl has had it hard enough. She doesn't need that dumbo beating her up. If he can't do his job and protect hens, then he's gotta go. I already have three roosters-in-training here at the house. I don't need a bully sticking around.

I'm really not all that mad right now, just concerned for my hen's well being.

Here is my last picture of my stinker pencil while I had her. She was put in her place by the Delaware that my friend took. So now, she is being a good girl wondering around in a nice big lot with other chicks of all sorts. Being a good girl. My friends said she went to pick on the chicks, and the Delaware quickly put her in place, says shes protective of the younger chicks running around, and they aren't even any that she hatched, just had around from the beginning. That's what the pencil was doing here, picking on the younger ones I put in the larger run for a while until they were taken, but I had to put them back into the small run. Oh well, she seems happy now.

She is getting pretty red Brad. Are you still getting an egg every now and again from yours?

Here's a cute good morning post! Hope everyone has a great day.

Sasha, you didn't tell me what kind of essential oil I should take for my cough. I know I sound terrible in the nasal area, but, it's actually getting better fast..it's always the cough that hangs on for me. I told you I had a friend here in the ward that sold that, but she moved like I said. Which one would be good for that?
I know it isn't quite the same thing, but the health food store here sells a lot of oils. I could find something there.

I think it's exactly THAT that worries him. LOL I'm so sorry about your friend. Depression is such an awful, misunderstood disease.

Delarooshens, I didn't have any leghorn crossses from Cynthia.

Didn't you say that you have your own leghorn crosses, because of the leghorns you got by accident that were supposed to be cornish x's?? Or am I thinking of someone else??

Welcome back Lisa!!! Sounds like you had a nice time!! Yeah, I've wondered if that other chick is a roo, too... part of the reason I need a girl!!

Red... sure you don't want my BR cockerel for your neighbor, too??????????

Posted my 3 cockerels (the BO is a boy, too) on KSL and Craigslist , we'll see if I get any bites!! Otherwise, they're off to freezer camp!
