Utah!

Lisa, forgot to welcome you back. Your trip sounds like a lot of fun, though I have to admit I missed you. Sorry about the parking ticket. Ugh.

On my polish, I'm not sure if they have beards or if they're just regrowing plucked feathers. I have no idea if they're pullets or cockerels, but lucky for me, I'm feeling very patient. If one is a rooster, it's this one, though I don't know.

Sphinx, I think Polish can have beards. I have seen some with a lot of floof around the face. Thanks for the support on the EE roo thing - I won't be happy to see him go, as he's a gorgeous bird. But I can't have anyone beating up my girls.

To everyone getting eggs -

Also, I am slightly jealous

Now to go complete that nest box the old fashioned way, hammer and nails-style (since the compressor keeps tripping the breaker) Lousy old house wiring............grumble grumble...........

Oh, Sasha. That made me laugh. I'm glad you guys made it home safely and received a proper chicken greeting!

So I neglected to mention earlier, but I think that my EE roo will be joining the two cockerels who are going to freezer camp. He's been pushing his luck for a while now, what with spurring me and other such things, but I hit my limit yesterday when I found out that all three of the boys were trying to mob mate my Marans hen, and the EE roo didn't even do a thing about it! Dominant, my eye. And then, to make matters worse, when I locked the boys up and found my hen, I noticed that she's getting bald on her head. I asked my boyfriend who did it, and he said it was the EE roo. He's just been pecking the hen hard for no reason.

I'm sorry, but we're not having any of that nonsense. My girl has had it hard enough. She doesn't need that dumbo beating her up. If he can't do his job and protect hens, then he's gotta go. I already have three roosters-in-training here at the house. I don't need a bully sticking around.

I'm really not all that mad right now, just concerned for my hen's well being.
Glad I could make ya laugh. :)
I don't blame you for wanting to send your EE roo to freezer camp! I totally agree, if a roo can't pull his weight around, one way or another he'll find a new home. I have high hopes for my little crele Wyandotte, Clay. His little harem LOVE him and cry and carry on like it's the end of the world when he's not with them....which, BTW, he isn't today. He was well past due to go in with the big girls, so that's where he is now. Seems to be doing OK after Hedwig (Blue Wheaten Ameraucana) let him know SHE is the boss. That will change eventually, he's just half her size right now. :)

Here's a cute good morning post! Hope everyone has a great day.

Sasha, you didn't tell me what kind of essential oil I should take for my cough. I know I sound terrible in the nasal area, but, it's actually getting better fast..it's always the cough that hangs on for me. I told you I had a friend here in the ward that sold that, but she moved like I said. Which one would be good for that?
I know it isn't quite the same thing, but the health food store here sells a lot of oils. I could find something there.
Cynthia, my dear! You should use an oil called Breathe from doTerra, and Eucalyptus is excellent for coughs as well. Diffusing it is the best way for a cough, but you can also put it on the bottom of your feet, or right on your chest. :) If your health food store doesn't sell it (I'm doubting they do) then let me know and I can order you some. First rule to remember is that if it says essential oil but then has all kinds of cautions, DON'T BUY IT! It isn't pure.
I thought I would share some pics from Alaska. We had a really nice time despite th fact Ed broke his foot first day out and I had $1000.00 stolen first day. Caught bronchitis 3rd day and its still with me.

OUR FORMAL PICTURE

I COULD HAVE SOLD THESE BOOTS 50 TIMES. SHOULD HAVE FILLED A SUITCASE WITH THEM I COULD HAVE PAID FOR THE CRUISE

SUNSET AT SEA

What great pictures! You and your hubby look perfect together....love the boots and that picture of the sunset is to die for! How breath-taking!

Sundance, amazing pictures!!! I bet it was a dream trip (even with the mishaps)... at least it is a dream of mine!

Thanks, all! If I get a 4th egg tomorrow, we will have eggs for breakfast. It is our 1st time eating duck eggs. Wonder if they will taste much different.

For those that remember my crippled goose girl, thought I'd share of pic of her today at the vet's office. We removed her 3rd corrective cast and as usual, watched her walk on grass before re-casting. This time, however, the vet decided to leave her barefoot and change routine dramatically. Fingers crossed it works!

Wheaten/blue wheaten ameracauna, preferably blue... I am getting one from Lisa...

And love those new pics you posted...Beautiful!! My uncle has lived up there for about 15 years now and says he'll never live in the lower 48 again!
