Utah!

so i solved my fly problem along with all the blood suckers and moths. i found a auto sprayer that sprays out a puff of natural fly killer every 15 minutes and covers a 6,000 sq feet area. and its safe for the chickens! a refill can will last a month so not bad. yeah i use de but it just was not cutting it because of the neighbors trash close by etc. so yeah it cost me $40 but in the end its a good deal because it will take care of the problem and will take very little work and i will not have to deal with annoying bugs :)

Birdguy... those are sure some strange eggs, curious to see the cigar shaped ones, too... silly birds...

Lisa... I really can't stand it that Michelle has the blue pullets, it's driving me absolutely CRAZY!!!!!! I really just can't go to Poky today, though...sheesh... Maybe I should tell her to hold them for me... hmmmmmm I'm afraid DH would really divorce me, though.. maybe I could sneak them in there without him knowing, lol!

Good luck with all the eggs hatching, those of you who are doing it...

Cynthia.. the green egg is from my OE pullet that's been laying about 2 weeks, I thought she was going to lay a blue egg. but I should've known, she has a straight comb=)

and GOOD luck sundance with the sick bird.. scary stuff, that's for sure!!

Wha?! A blue Orp? That' almost as good as a black Orp - gorgeous!

But whyyyyy don't I have any more space? Wahhh!

Cynthia, I thought the bug picture was cute.

Birdguy, I wonder if it's stress from the heat that's causing those wild eggs?

Birdman, nice find!

I hesitated to mention it yesterday, but when we were processing the cockerel for freezer camp, we noticed something. He had little mites or something on him. Ewwwww! Yeah, both my boyfriend and I got super cleaned up right away, and everybody will be getting treated shortly. Gave me the heeby jeebies. No bugs allowed!

Dalooras, wait. How close are you to Pocatello? I have some friends who live in Downey.

Happy, that's cool! I feel happy when my BO can be called by name

I don't know that I could train them for an obstacle course.

I'm really frustrated with my BLRW. We've had her for two months and no eggs, she should be laying eggs somewhere right? Even if she doesn't go into the nest boxes...right? I'm new to chickens, but it seems there should be eggs since she was supposedly hatched in the spring of 2011. I got her from Rebecca in Lehi and I trust that she wouldn't sell me a bird that's not as she represented so I'm annoyed with the BLRW. She is a bully to my other ladies as well. I keep hoping that one day we'll check the egg boxes and we'll have an egg (or 2 or 3, the others are getting to be old enough to lay). Should I rehome the BLRW (my neighbor has never gotten back to me with the trade)? I'd love to keep 8 chickens, but I'm not sure it would be good to introduce on on its own?

Red, sorry the processing didn't go smoothly. I think it takes some trial and error to get it right. I'm sure you'll get better with practice.

LOve the crazy eggs. I always took pictures of my goofy eggs. This batch of chickens hasn't done anything interesting yet.

Substance, please take it easy. I worry that you're too hard on yourself and are prolonging your recovery.

I'm in Zion Nat'l park til saturday. If anyone wants me to be a chicken train to northern Utah, I'm willing!

Kimmy, I'd nag the neighbor some more. If that doesn't work, rehome her. Her bullying could put the others off laying.
