Kidasoto, I have seen my Marans lay an off-white egg once, when she usually lays creamy brown. I think her paint sprayers were off duty that day. It could be that one of your brown egg layers had the same issue.

Last thought this morning...I am still having dilemma's trying to incorporate my little bantam polish into my big girls, she is just so tiny, it is not working at all so far. The teens have learned to put up with her in the yard pen, but they are getting too big and need to be in the run. But that little polish has no buddies and cannot be in the run yet, too small. What to do. (Without getting more chicks!)

Hmmm..... what a dilemma. I know! You could go get a little, wonderful, sweet, amazing, blue egg laying - drumroll please- WHITE AMERAUCANA!!! Just trying to help and do a little enabling

Now if you absolutely don't want any new chickens (and you don't mind eating all of the chocolate in your house) you might be able to put your sweetest silkie in with her. I don't know how old yours are but I hear they can be quite motherly. I would watch them really close for a while but it might be worth a try.

One of the Auracauna you bought from me?? I would love to see a recent picture of her. Congrats on all the winnings. Those Silkies are eye candy for sure for a lot of people. Especially if they are groomed right. Sounds like you had fun..and are coming home with some fun ribbons!

Yes the black one. her name is darkness. The boy is being show at the Davis county fair I think even if he has a tail. They love him

Good job on the ribbons. I was told that they don't hang the ribbons out our birds until Sunday for some reason. I need to ask why. Your chickens look groomed to perfection
