Utah!

that is so cool! i have a timneh grey, a meyers and a miligold macaw right now, a few months ago i had a senegal die from renal failure and my congo african grey due to some neurological issues, he would always have seizures and one day did not come back after having one, he was a wild caught too but i was able to tame him. they died a week apart and i miss them so much! i still have not been able to take down their cages. all my parrots are rescues

My condolences. It's so hard :(

I got to meet Sundance, her hubby, and their grandson today. Nice folks. I got to see her flock and some of their little quail, too. Soooo cute! It's always fun to see other peoples' birds. She has a gorgeous little d'Uccle and a frizzle, and a big, beautiful sex-link that tattles whenever anyone lays an egg. Lisa, it made me think of your BR, Violet. It was fun to chat with Sundance, too. Except you know that mask I was wearing for the sprayer, Diana? It didn't quite conform to my face, and I am now the proud owner of white nose hairs

Whew, you guys have been busy on here! Cynthia, I hope you get some good rest and feel better soon.

Lisa, I think it's normal for a lot of chickens to molt when Fall comes around. I haven't seen it yet with my flock, but I'm sure they won't be far behind the times. My EE roo in Tooele molted a little over a month ago, and now his feathers are coming back in, including the tail that dog took. Poor guy has some dignity again!

I heard someone singing the egg song yesterday evening, but when I peeked out back, I could see that it wasn't any of my three known layers. So, I figure I've got another new layer getting ready to start. My guess is that it's either the Exchequer I got from Cynthia, or else one of the Wyandotte sisters from Lisa (Lisa, can you believe Angel and Stevie are that old already?!) THere's a slim chance it could be my oldest Icelandic pullet, too, which is crazy. She's smaller than the Leghorn! But her face definitely has more red in it. I'm on the lookout for new little white eggs in the yard.

Red did not say how hard I worked her. I don't know what I would have done without her. She painted 1/2 the inside of the coop and all the green trim on the outside. I can say thank you for such a nice lady to come and help. I paid her with eggs. We managed to finish the painting and got 1/4 of the roof. done The windows both installed . Now ed needs to also build the roosting perches and nest boxes. . Then we can move the chickens in.

i have seen a large male in the feild just north of were pioneer crossing and red wood meet. its a deep feild that has not had anything grown in it this year. you can see him in the late evening. he is really big and a deep rusty red color. there is a small female farther south on the west side of the road in the last feild just before the bend (its that big corn feild).i seen one on the way home tonight were bangerter meets I-15. you know that big feild by the prison that had deer in it. now the person who owns the feild has cows in it and it has water in it alot. most people just drive along and dont look in the fields, but if you take the time to look you might be really surprised at what you see,.

It was nice to be able to come help, though I really don't feel like I did that much. And some of those lovely eggs are going into a batch of cupcakes tomorrow!

You poor thing, you have it too? Head cold? Started with sore throat..I'm now coughing really hard. That's the thing I really don't like when I get a cold. I cough soo hard, and can't stop.
I can't take cold meds. I'm allergic to so many meds. The cold meds. make me itchy all over. I have been taking IB Prophen though, helps with the inflammation in the nose.
You get some rest, and drink a lot of water! Good luck.
