What a lousy situation...un Yep, I think if it happened there,you have to file there. You can file via mail (call the county and ask for the paperwork needed to file a small claims, or see if you can get the right forms downloaded on-line from their county website).

I would check back with the code enforcement officer, point out that the place is still listed for rent, and see if you can get a copy of what she is charged with. That would backup your claim too.
