I'm really sorry that all happen...what a pita. I know paypal has some type of insurances for large purchases. I would consider it a purchase myself. Have you contacted paypal about it yet? Mabey they can help some?

You can still stop the payment, I did weeks after my payment went through. (for a horse)

CALL the folks at paypal, just tell them you didn't receive what you paid for.
They in turn will ask the seller to PROVE you got what you paid for. They wont' be able to do that, no proof of delivery or anything like that!

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if you paid with a credit card or not.
Paypal will FREEZE her account and SIEZE the money and return it to you within your paypal account.
I bet she's receiving other payments in her paypal account, there will be money there sooner or later.

Paypal will also SHUT DOWN her account when its all done, and she'll never be able to send and receive cash that way again, and that will be a REAL P.I.T.A. for her.

The folks at Paypal are GREAT with cases like this - just CALL THEM!

I am so sorry CountryGirl!! We just got back Saturday from Florida and we got a place through VRBO but they also went through a real estate company that was really close.

We had went to Cape San Blas and when I was looking for places I had talked to a lady that lived there and rented condos. She warned me to ask lots of questions and talk to the people frequently between the time I sent the money and we actually rented. She told me she had heard of horror stories like yours.

Get a glass of sweet ice tea and go spend some time with your girls.

they are on the defensive now. I am so sorry you wasted a lot of time and money on this vacation spot.

I wonder why that website doesn't make the people listing rentals provide a place for previous renters to leave comments about the condo. This would make the owners keep things proper or they will get negative feedback and no new renters.

If you can't get the money back through paypal, I would'nt think you would need an attorney......use your proof and sue them in small claims court.

Ozarkhen, I sent you an email. I just wanted you to tell me how you got the comment. Did you email the owners? If you could explain a little more I would appreciate it.
MayberrySaint , I did send a comment to vrbo that they need to include a space for rentees to make a comment about their experience, be it good or bad. They really need it. Maybe it would keep the owners on their toes a little more knowing that possible rentees are reading the comments.
I appreciate all of you and your support. I'm so sorry my post was soooo long. But I had to vent.
Does anyone know how small claims court works? Would I have to go back to Florida to do it since that is where the problem occured?
