Vaccinations?

I'm somewhat new to chickens! I just ordered chicks from Ideal do I want them to get vaccinations?

Hi Crazy Cluck!
I don't know where you live, but I've had several hens and a rooster die from Marek's. We live in Northern California, Sonoma County. We just started loving chickens in September and it was very heartbreaking to watch them suffer through Marek's. We will ALWAYS get our chicks vaccinated for Marek's.
However, check with your county. Maybe it is not prevalent in your area.

Hi,

I'm also in Riverside. We DO have Marek's and I lost all of my chickens who weren't vaccinated, (they were supposed to be), to Mareks. It was diagnosed at necropsy.

Yes, get the vaccine.

Thanks! I will. I just got 4 BO's( 2 days old) today from the feed store they were not vaccinated will that be a problem?
