vaccine baby chicks

I'm with you on that! Unfortunately, with all our critters, I've had to learn. With our horses, it's just silly not to vaccinate for West Nile. Sheep need over eaters, but I'm scared to mess with chickens! If need be, I guess I'll learn. I don't believe in over use of vaccine & antibiotics, but I do feel some diseases need medical intervention. It's a catch 22. You use it too much & it becomes ineffective.

EXACTLY my take on it!
Now my horses, dogs and children are all vaccinated. (West Nile for sure.. We live in mosquito country)
They also all go to the vet or doctor. But I have no intention of vetting my chickens if I do not need to.

Some of the procedures I've read that people do here are amazing. I wanted to be a vet, so I'm sure I could do some, but drawing fluid out of a belly - OMG. There are zero avian vets here, so I'll have to do some doctoring.
