Vaccines. What are y’alls thoughts on the national poultry improvement project relative to this website? This website seems VERY pro big Government as opposed to being pro local homesteader. Thoughts?

I don't know what you mean by "relative to this website".

My thoughts. NPIP is a government program that worked. Pulloram was threatening to shut down the national poultry business. To help save the national poultry industry the federal government offered to help the states fight it. The American poultry industry greatly benefits the country's balance of payments and generates a lot of jobs for Americans. Poultry is a huge export to China where we need help with our balance of payments.

I think 48 states elected to join NPIP. Hawaii did not join, they have their own tougher requirements. I can't remember which other state did not join.

Each state is different. Some elected to do the bare minimum to get the federal money, others added additional requirements. They all manage it differently. The federal government does not force any state to join, they just offer money if they meet minimum requirements.

Pulloram used to be very common, a real threat to our country. Now it is extremely rare. Several states have been pulloram free for years. So I consider NPIP a program that worked.

...now it's kind of irrelevant considering the variables and what they now test (and don't test for). and the fact that it is done by citizens who may or may not be vigilant.
