Sorry to keep posting and thanks to all who are helping out! I just got home with my bottle of Valbazem and the warnings about not slaughtering meat animals within a certain timeframe and not giving to lactating animals at all has me concerned. I planned to toss eggs for 14 days post 10 day dose (because I overthink and overworry about everything) but I wonder if that’s even an appropriate amount of time? How was it determined it was ok to give this to laying hens. I don’t even know if my chickens have worms but i don’t know what else to do for my lethargic hen at this point besides deworming. Anyone out there able to ease my mind before I do this?

You can look it all up on the FARAD.org website. it's a bit confusing, but look up approved drugs for puoltry, at least.
Fenbendazole is approved with no egg withdrawal in the USA.
Getting a fecal run at the veterinarian's would be best, because you don't even know if any wormer is needed.

I’m doing this based on recommendation from other members as in a “you’ve done everything else, try this”. I did fecal tests a few weeks ago from other birds that were negative but this one was not tested. She just got sick two days ago and I can’t figure out what it could be. It seems everyone is saying to worm regardless because it won’t hurt???

Valbazen is very safe to use, and it is frequently prescribed for humans in the US and around the world. But I would use a 14 days egg withdrawal. What are the symptoms she is having?
Starting two days ago-lethargic, standing still, eyes closed, sometimes tucking head into wing. Her poops alternate between looking totally normal (a slight dark greenish tinge-but she’s usually on grass) and being runnier. Today I’ve seen her drink some and some eating but nothing voracious. I’ve offered egg and yogurt today but no interest. I’m so confused about what to do for her. In 14 years I’ve never wormed chickens because I never suspected them to be an issue.
