Here's a pic of the brood- pardon the messy brooder, they just woke up and started making a mess.
All are using the nipple waterer just fine as you can see..
have to sing the praises of whoever thought up the hobbles for chicks.. I always have my vet tape ready and use it whenever I've got a chick with problems walking once dry. I hobbled three chicks, one was walking fine yesterday but the two worst were still flopping around - today all three are up and walking! Love it!
Also have to give kudos to the ecoglow 50 - MUCH better than the 20 for adjustment - I have the back adjusted way down and the front about 3 inches up - the chicks can move to wherever they feel best. Another good thing about ecoglow is if you have 'special needs' chicks like my two worst splay legged ones, you can stuff them under the ecoglow and it's too dark to have the other chicks pick on them unlike if they are under a heat lamp 24x7 and can see to pick on the weaker ones.
