. I ended up losing one of the three I hatched for the New Years Day hatch. It went into the water bowl and I found it stiff and cold in a brooder corner. I never could revive it. The two I have left are a definite roo and pullet so I'm hoping for some more ladies and maybe another roo

Debs_Flock: that's cecrtainly better than mine. :) 33/45. every time the weather drops, so soes my incubator. My fixed hovabator has dropped to the lowest of 97 and highest of 102. Isn't that great? I have a winter and a summer incubator! And plus the one at school... I wonder how it's doing... I have 21/45 of mine left and a couple are questionable.

Melissa Rose: wow, sounds like your eggs are doing great too!

Anderson8505: awesome poem!

Y'all know what stupid thing I do? I load a BYC page and... I fall asleep with the page up.. since it's on a cell phone. Kinda random, but yeah. I'm stil hibernating bc it's like 30/40 ish degrees in FLORIDA!!! It rained yesterday... too bad I wouldn't have snowed. :(

I'll be working, too, most likely. With my power outage, I'm not even sure when my eggs are due. I'm also having a heck of a time keeping the humidity above 30%. Obviously in addition to winter here we've got 2 wood burning stoves going, which sucks the moisture out of the air. You should see my hands, looks like I borrowed a lizards skin, but I digress.

I don't think my humidity was that high for NYD hatch and I did fine, only one left dead in the shell...

We'll see. I had back luck putting a maxi pad or wet washcloth in the bottom well and draping it onto the inside of the incubator. I had severely shrink wrapped chicks when I did that that were sticky for days after hatching.

Yeah for everyone who's got hatchlings!!

I had 1 Bantam Welsummer hatch this morning and 1 Chocolate project Ameracauna hatch! Now I'm up to 3 of the chocolate Ameracaunas and have 3 more pipped plus another Wellie pipped!

Whoot!!

I put 74 in lock down last night along with 2 goose and 3 duck eggs. This is out of my 142 chicken eggs. Some looked questionable though.

OK, last night I locked down 24 out of 50. Ugg!
I have 6 shipped eggs left of 23, 2 from each swapper. Of my own I have 11 Iowa Blues and 7 Iowa Blue/Ameraucana mixes. Humidity is 54% and steady, temp is 100. OK to Go!
