Vamp's hatching crew! who cares what day u r on!Hatch with us!

Well I came back from my trip to find one little call duck half way hatched! So cute! That makes 3 that made it - I'm not really disappointed because they are notoriously hard to hatch and I'm lucky to have even one survive.

Now that one little guy from last week, whom we have renamed Forrest, still has some pretty severe curled toes, but he has actually learned to walk on it just find. I thought for sure he'd die because he wasn't able to reach the food, but he surprised me! He gets around just fine and is best buddies with his hatch-mate Uncle Frank.

Since I have decided to name all my birds after TV or movie characters the new little one is called Lieutenant Dan - or LD for short.

Anyway - I have 11 more runners due to hatch any time now and 13 giant blue/black/splash cochins on day 18 as I type.

Here's hoping for more little ones!

And congratulations to everyone who hatched! We did good!

Day 19 for me too. No pips yet. Had a successful day at court today. Memphis will be with his dad everyother weekend which started today, so I'm glad I have egg babies to take care of to keep my mind off of how much I miss him. I had 10 birds die yesterday including all my silkies. I am so over these evil gnats.

I got them in the May swap, someone didn't have eggs so they bought them and had themm shipped to me. They have the mille fleur coloring, but are clean legged. What kind do you have?

Here is a pic. of what they look like..

Wow! Yep, they be mille fleur colored Dutch Bantams. If you could, pretty please, find out where that person purchased them from...I'd greatly appreciate it. I bought my eggs from Cara Smith in Colorado, and out of 34, I am going to end up with 8. Shipping was not kind to the poor eggs. She has Light Brown, Cream Light Brown and Blue Cream Light Brown. What I end up with, who knows at the moment...lol. But I have been drooling over the mille fleur and citreon mille fleur...gorgeous!
By the way, do you have any Polish eggs for sale?

I always have polish eggs for sale! I am now getting some frizzle polish eggs from my girls, but I have lots of colors and they are seperated. My silkies are now laying too, if you want any of those

I think both my show girls are boys. They are butting chests, and just generally pick on each other. The silkie from that bunch, too. I gave my neighbor three of the other silkie babies, so I don't know about them.

Soooooo, while I am rather bummed out- in a sense, its okay. I would rather them turn out to be roos than just plain mean hens. The three of them have teensy little spur bumps.

THose of you with Silkies- do none of your hens have them? (I HAVE TWO SILKIES WHO I REALLY WANT TO KEEP that have to be hens for me to do so.)

I am on Day 16 for the button quail, Day 16 for the Araucana, Day 15 for the Easter Eggers, and Day 11 for the Polish/Silkies.

HElP me, Vamp....I just bought some Serama eggs. I said I was DONE!
